I have been working at Informatica part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Sound Products, backed by terrific R&D and Support Organisations
    Flexible working conditions
    Great facilities

    Cons

Success leads to growth, and some of the 'small company' culture is lost every year

    Advice to Management

Keep up the information flow - we need to know where you are leading us.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Lovely colleagues.
    Well paid.
    Good benefits.
    Nice offices.
Good career development & line managegement.

    Cons

Can be very hectic with a lot of change - not always for the best.
At times it feels with the focus on profitability that teams are under-resourced or stretched too thin.

    Advice to Management

EMEA Leader is great - keep it up! Corporate leadership - keep visiting us in EMEA and the lines of communication open but being asked to do more with less is not always possible.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Management team gives respect to all. Culture is very good. Equal opportunity.

    Cons

Nothing, but I can say only one, my personal opinion.....The workplace is ergonomic. However, it could be even better by providing individual partition - to avoid any disturbance (for example, from neighbors phone calls )

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Knowledgeable co-workers.
Flexible working hours / location; i.e. from home when it suits.
    Opportunities to prototype solutions.

    Cons

Inflexibility of some departments / teams.
Senior staff in HQ tend to be US biased in their lookout.
Applications for some business functions touted / presented as best of breed where they don't always work for staff outside of the USA.

    Advice to Management

Improve further on communications; especially across geographic locations.
Involve end users from outside of the USA when considering business applications and NOT those for whom the software is typically used for.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent salary and benefits. Good local (line) management.

    Cons

Upper management seem to be focused on Cloud with absolutely no interest in core technologies. Core personnel are regarded as a drain on company resources, and the first to go in redundancy rounds.
Complete focus on US employees and market, Europe is a very poor third class to US and India.
Same upper management faces reappear in top positions, seemingly regardless of talent or competence.

    Advice to Management

Look outside the US and Cloud technologies once in a while.

I worked at Informatica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Probably the best reason was that it was (and still is) a market leader and set the bar for innovation in the space of Data Management. It still is after all these years (somehow) an independent and as such Informatica is able to set the direction in which all others follow. Being an independent gives it so much freedom to direct the product in whatever way they see fit and a lot of the time these decisions were quite good.

    Cons

Back in the day Informatica hired bright out of the box thinkers, somewhere along the line it became all about the politics, you play the political game well, you will achieve a lot. Also be prepared just to follow the words and desires of the people you report to, independent thinkers are just not listened too. If you are innovative and care more about your customers than the numbers, you probably wont do well at Informatica.

    Advice to Management

You lost a lot of good people over the years through bad leadership.
