Pros

It’s remote which is convenient

Cons

The current company culture is suffering due to toxic management practices. Employees are experiencing poor treatment from their managers, which is creating an environment of confusion and frustration. It seems that there is a significant lack of effective communication and leadership, leading to employees not knowing their roles or how to perform their tasks efficiently. This toxic culture can result in decreased morale, lower productivity, and higher turnover rates, ultimately affecting the overall success of the company. Addressing these issues is critical to fostering a healthier, more productive workplace.

Pros

First year you will learn a lot You may be able to travel whilst there, depending on your position and budget Exposure to a cutting edge field If you are a developer or engineer, this is a unique opportunity to learn Work remotely If you are experienced with an AI platform, you may be of high value If you can learn other languages such as Rust, or are interested in Haskell, you can have room to move whilst there Should you have exceptional training skills, you may be chosen as a traveller to African countries to work with young developers

Cons

This is a small organization that is still in start up mode, no matter the rhetoric Changes scope, mission, and direction about every 6 months Entire departments let go recently Federal legislation trying to end the entire crypto industry Recruitment points are smoke and mirrors. Aside from salary, don't expect much No bonuses in 2023 (though promised by recruiters) Computer reimbursement promised...after 1 year, and only if budgeted by supervisor Below industry compensation Claims of a token plan, that only has merit if you stay for 3 years or more Regular reprisals from Senior management If you don't praise the CEO continually, you are on the way out Corrosive leadership - vindictive Questionable finances

Pros

Exciting vision, smart people, rapidly moving and interesting technologies. Has the potential to drive massive change. Colleagues are friendly and supportive. It is 100% remote working which is a great fit for many.

Cons

- HR needs an overhaul. Things that are taken for granted in other companies like annual pay reviews connected to performance don't happen. Be prepared to take an inflation based pay cut year on year regardless of your performance. - HR are unresponsive and slow to execute. Promise of implemented change is signalled then takes in excess of a year to come if it comes at all. - Little in the way of feedback loops for this team to drive accountability which erodes trust - Constantly reinventing itself, so difficult to feel a firm foundation in the whirlwind of constant change whether that is in organisational structure or in project tracking - Career paths are unstructured.
