Pros

I met a lot of a very interesting people . Worked on very interesting projects with quite a lot of freedom . Flexible working hours.

Cons

You have to know that all the discoveries or innovation belongs to INRIA. In other words your supervisor. Meaning that your supervisor may decide to do whatever he likes with your unfinished work once you are left. For example, he can use it to publish papers without your name on it (It happened to me an other people I know). So be careful the contract you sign and the people you work with .

Pros

There are few good employee and nothing else

Cons

Toxic environment, jealous and not collaborative. I have witnessed research engineers and PhD students fired for no reason just because of personal conflict. The administration keep the back of the permanent staff and their dirty actions. They pretend to be democratic, however, this is a fake face, it was indeed horrible experience and there isno freedom to experiment. However, it may depend from one location to another and from one director to another, but there is no laws. What freaked me out is that they are thieves, yes, the employees themselves are thieves, although they have security, they can still steal each other, of course there are few fraction who still have conscience.
