Pros

Very few good things about this compnay

Cons

There's are a lot of Con's to working here, the benefits are the bare minimum that the law requires every company to give to their employees. Holidays are 20 days, Healthcare is a joke, Pension contribution is the minimum, Maternity well let me put it this way is statutory maternity pay. The SMT are a bunch of arrogant egotistical people whose philosophy is ‘everybody is replaceable’ they will treat you like you are worth nothing and will make sure to inform you that you can be fired at any given moment.

They have a nice office (when not in lockdown) with a good location. Some of the staff are really nice.

Cons

Very high staff turn over, not flexible to change, top down CEO and senior managers are out of touch

Pros

Massive free butties on Fridays, gamification scheme which you can give as rewards to employees, friendly folk, social events

Cons

Pay is below other Manchester companies. The main problem for tech staff is the lack of trust to get on with work. The CEO constantly rejected work that met the stipulated requirements, or gave vague ones in the first place and the feature would never meet the imaginery ones 🙄 rework was very common and frustrating for all involved. Another problem was the old code in the solution felt like it was tied together with wool, one little hotfix here could knock something else out and every release involved firefighting and russelling up more and more test cases to the mix. Messy.

Thanks for taking the time to give us this detailed feedback – it’s tough to read, but extremely useful to help us reflect on where we needed to improve at that point in time. With that said, since the time that you wrote this review we’ve made significant changes to our Engineering processes, team structure, and technical direction – all of which directly address the concerns raised here. We’re now collaborating with more and more teams across the business to define and refine requirements, creating tight, iterative feedback loops for implementations, and are paying down our technical debt. The feedback we’ve had from the team on these changes has been fantastic – we’re now actively fostering an environment of trust, accountability, and excellence across the whole department and the results (both in terms of quality delivered, and team-member satisfaction) speak for themselves. Thanks again for taking the time to write your feedback - we really appreciate it!
