    Doesn't Recommend

    I worked at J. Crew part-time

    Pros

Good pay and benefits e.g. discounts - good hours too.

    Cons

If you are looking for a serious job that puts a lot of pressure on selling a certain amount each day, then this is the job for you. Managers put ALOT of stress on you as they get a lot of stress from their managers.

I worked at J. Crew part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The brand is cool and every sales associate will get free outfits for work. It was a good place to work part time while studying.

    Cons

Working hours were not great, the store closes at 8pm but the last shift has two hours of folding to do afterwards.

I worked at J. Crew part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great atmosphere. Informative meetings about seasonal trends and company updates. Brilliant discounts for employees. Supportive management (oftentimes they brought snacks to share).

    Cons

Hectic schedule for part-time employees. No pay for on-call days. Cut hours due to slow sales days. Quality depreciation made it more challenging for customers to buy/keep the merchandise and harder to hit sales goals.

I have been working at J. Crew full-time

    Pros

Get to work with some lovely people, staff discounts, big team, nights out

    Cons

    1. Shifts are way too late, long tedius hours, nothing to do on the shop floor but fold 2. Management are unrealiable and do not communicate well 3. Alot of double standards and unfairness in the store with managers and associates and favouritism 4. Gossipy and cliquey atmosphere, not nice at all 5. Too much focus on individual sale targets, very stressfull 6. Managers also need to be careful of how they... address situations and comments/jokes they make about associates - some could be taken the wrong way (racially)!!!

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to associates if they have an issue, sit down and see how you can resolve it rather than ignoring or passing it onto another manager Managers need to set an example, stop gossiping and treat others how you would like to be treated And finally relax! YES you want to sell and make store targets ect, but stop putting staff under stress! it is not needed
