Pros

The pay and benefits were decent.

Cons

Here are just a few of the red flags you will encounter. - Toxic work culture. Just take a walk around their new Downtown HQ. The building is practically empty with zero open conversation in the air. - Extremely high turnover. I have never seen so much turnover in a workforce. This goes for all employees, from hourly to the executives. It is a constant revolving door of new faces. People are constantly quitting or getting fired. - Zero budget. If you like working with cool tools and technology, go elsewhere. JMA won't spend a dime on what you need to do your job. In fact, they will likely reduce your team by 50% and have you do their work. Then when you complain, they will fire you without warning. - JMA is absolutely writing fake Glassdoor reviews. As well as coercing current employees to leave positive reviews. This is a pretty obvious attempt at covering up all that bad will they've accumulated over the years. Hey JMA, you worked hard for those red flags, you should be proud! So in summary, don't work at JMA.

Pros

HR department has become more tech-savvy managing employer-review sites.

Cons

Since the HR department was expanded and restaffed in 2021-2022 with more tech-savvy and social media aware individuals, it seems that a large portion of the positive reviews look and sound very similar, with the "Pros" parroting many of the same Corporate talking points. Even the "cons" in a significant number of reviews are just the "Pro" talking points flipped around (e.g., I wish the company would become more visible in the public). Normally I'd give HR credit for pushing these talking points down to the employees effectively, and that it's reflected in reviews written by a bunch of different employees. But the communication is so non-existent at JMA, that it's impossible that is the case.

Pros

Realizing that this definitely a place that anyone with self respect would stay away from.

Cons

Disrespect of employees, starting from HR all the way down and I mean down to the group leaders/team leads. Constant backstabbing and snitching. Company has "Observation" cameras EYERYWHERE. Leads take pictures of employees coming out of bathrooms with their cellphones. Complain about something from sexual harassment to blatant disregarding COVID concerns, you get chastised. There's NO Personal time to take off, you have to use your vacation time up first. Now about hiring.... For every employee hired from another country there's a $10,000 bonus for the owner... Never guess what the majority of hires is....Yep, you got it....Americans are the vast MINORITY there, talk about inverted discrimination...Personally I've heard a team lead scream at one of the women employees, "Get away from me (Name) before I punch you in the face. she notified HR.... she was moved and he kept his position....Talk about why companies need UNIONS here's one of the many reasons to do so. No lets talk raises... Or as most would joke of the year time... The owner of J.M.A. has the most expensive house in New York State...Keep that in mind....On a good review you might get a .25 an hour raise yea that's twenty five cents...and the last revelation for those who seek truth, the rate construed by "techs" that have no clue as to real production processes. they stand over assemblers while doing time studies and tell them to go faster... Really. I'm pretty sure that's NOT how time studies are to be conducted, Production numbers are more important than Quality, when numbers use to be posted there was a 40-60% first yield fail rate, the numbers are close to that with returned failed units in the field. Run do not walk from this hot mess.
