Pros
The people are generally good, honest and hard working. Salary good. Well meaning and right intentions, but ultimately don't have the expertise or resources to fulfil promises.
Cons
Lack of leadership, process and organisation. Expected to manage departments outside of your expertise area. Warehouse HR processes (eg sickness policy) rolled out to salaried office staff. Benefits are horrific - 1% pension contribution! No Death in Service. No bonuses. Manufacturing works on a 'who shouts loudest, wins' basis, which is unsustainable for effective success. Living hand to mouth, month to month, no sustainable plan in place for a long term vision.
