Pros

* Incredibly friendly and welcoming team in the London office * Weekly paid team lunch * £800 annual technology and travel allowance

Cons

* No dedicated sick pay policy, it’s just statutory which I’ve never experienced in a UK company. Sick pay either has to be taken as annual leave or unpaid/statatory * Investment priorities feel misaligned. Founders will fund leadership ‘retreats’ while core benefits like sick pay, parental support and compassionate leave are limited/non existent. * When leadership come from head office their approach around socials and drinking feels very 80’s ad agency vibe. I’ve seen other comments on here about it being like a boys club and frat vibes and I agree. * Project allocation is inconsistent, with last-minute changes and limited communication around role fit * Communication in general is poor. We hardly ever know what is going on in the company and things happen very suddenly and without warning. * The office is not collaborative. It’s based in converted apartments in Shoreditch and this means the teams are in separate areas of the ‘office’. * Although the people in the London office are lovely and great to work with, the overarching culture from leadership overseas leans towards corporate America / boys club

Pros

Some people are nice, mostly the co-workers, but don't get to attached to them. The parties can be fun if you value social events more than other benefits. Sometimes they will fly you to another office to work there. No variety in tech (Adobe, Adobe, Adobe) stacks which I appreciated as I like routines.

Cons

Call me a curious cat but why are there some many generic 5 stars reviews here saying that Konrad's culture is great after a scathing review is posted? When I first started looking for my first job I was partly influenced by the positive reviews here but my experience was vastly different from my expectations. The pay is mediocre, there is no two ways about that, specially if you live in Toronto which has a high cost to live there. From what my co-workers on the other regions told me the same applies and is even worse in the Costa Rica and New York offices. The company also has this weird allergy to WFH, for a company that is "born digital" they sure hate working that way, the pandemic did force their hand in that regard but don't worry they are making people go back. No HR, they must be too busy lobbying to their employees to post insincere 5 stars reviews in here I guess, eh? A boorish, unimaginative leadership more preoccupied with the bottom line than their employees, there is a reason retention is awful. A "fast paced environment" which is code for overworking for the least amount of money. Awful PTO policy, you're indeed forced to take vacations for the shutdown I guess revenue must not be that good if they can't afford to add that as a benefit, speaking of which... no bonuses, shares, equity, sign up bonus or otherwise any compensation packages, they do offer a yearly "tech bonus" but it is basically nickels on a dime compared to other companies in the same space. Others have said it but yes it is kind of like fraternity, the highlight for a lot of people is going to CR to get smashed and get up to no good (general tomfoolery and naughtiness) , this coincidentally are usually your seniors because the more mature people already left for "grown-up" jobs and the rest were taken down the road to the farm during the night. Some people have mentioned how they fire people and it is true, they often send an email after hours and try hide the fact someone got fired, after that it is akin to anathema to mention what happen, expect knowing glances at most. Someone said the CR office is treated as joke and I'm inclined to agree, it feels they're mostly treated as runts expected to "ohh and ahh" at their wise, benevolent superiors. Bottom line? I would pass. My time spend here left me with frustration, rather find another place where my promotions are not tied to how much I can drink and subjected to arbitrary times. I also learned not to trust bald CTOs, I felt he treated me as a sordid, back-alley magician whenever we spoke.
