Mass hire - Mass fire

Pros

Team are lovely. Enjoyable team get-togethers Perks Base pay Remote first - always an emphasis for the new business team to be in the office.

Cons

2 mangers left 3 weeks apart within the same month. Little room for progression. Have hired senior members of staff including VP of Sales, promoted current sales director to manager. Very little structure in place, just told to hit KPIS and targets. Little support, partly due to management style and a few other seniors leaving a couple of months apart. Mass fire due to funding, the reality of the market unraveled itself. Market and team oversaturated. Competitors are far cheaper, have entered into the US market so an added level of pressure coming from investors and "C Level" which was often the opening/threatening line. Probation - was initially 3 months which was extended by another 3 months (was told that 6 month was the new standard, coupled with not hitting target" 6 months went by, was then extended by a further 3 months only to be told that they will be terminating my employment, was logged out within 15 mins of the call and was sent an email confirming a courier had been booked to collect the equipment. Diversity is just for appearance.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and share your experience with us. We’re pleased that you have found the LandTech culture, socials, remuneration and our Hybrid working model all positive elements of your time here. We did indeed need to make a small number of redundancies in 2022 in order to optimise our business model; although of course regrettable, these impacted a limited number of roles and we were able to redeploy a number of individuals into new roles. We are sorry to hear about your experience following your probationary period; we understand it is a difficult outcome. We are currently putting more infrastructure into onboarding, training and clarity of targets and expectations through 2023’s commercial compensation plans, and are continuing to do this in all other elements throughout 2023. We take your feedback seriously and will ensure it is taken onboard. . We wish we had all the answers. For us, diversity is not about gimmicks or tokenism that we see banded superficially in some establishments. It is the richness in ideas, experiences, walks of lives, possibilities, opportunities and shared goals. We are a community of 150 individuals, within the dynamics of 18 spoken languages 33% ethical demographics, 3 continents, 4 time zones, and abundance in walks of life; coming together in 4 company away days and weekly cross-functional teams to share ideas, solve complex problems, produce meaningful outputs and create a better world in our industry. We encourage, advocate and champion those who operate with integrity, care and diligence, and those with the commitment and fortitude to overcome and grow through the necessary vicissitudes of our scale-up journey. When it comes to our selections for hiring, promotion and recognition, we have regard for two attributes only: merit and accolade of character! For us, merit is about proficiency in skills, problem solving in mindset, and the respect and kindness to others even in differences, irrespective of any demographic, background or identity. When these postings are made in this forum and not discussed in a two-way conversation directly through our ‘Open’ value, is it difficult to gain a deeper context to anything someone may have experienced that does not aligned to our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Principles, or where they believe that we make improvements to further harness a dynamic and inclusive environment within LT. Therefore, we genuinely invite you to connect with us directly so that we can gain your insights and viewpoints of any improvements we might be able to make in this area. We want to thank you for having been a part of us and wish you well for the future. Kind regards People Operations

Pros

Within your first couple months you would probably say the ‘Culture’, you would say that your colleagues are nice and welcoming. Hence all the positive reviews which by the way the company encourages you to write via glass door within a month of employment. In reality, people are only nice and smile with you out of arrogance (because they know something you don't know) or naivety (because you are none the wiser and expect your colleagues to be as honest and polite as you), after all one of their company values is 'Open and Honest' however you will not find this there. They give you a £500 personal budget which you can use to get a gym membership or something of the sort and £200 home office budget, however they have made a lot of people redundant recently so they may soon remove these benefits.

Cons

Senior management employ & promote people who have the same hobbies and interest as them which further increases the luck of diversity. No matter how hard you work and consistently achieve beyond what's expected, it will not be recognised because John Doe over there goes out for drinks till early hours of the morning and likes rugby. They feel the need to bribe sales people to do their jobs; instead of setting up the new business framework in a way that will assure success with smarts, hard work and skill. 85% of the NB team members haven’t hit their quarterly target all year and have developed an attitude of comfort with that reality; and I don’t blame them too much because the fish roots from the head and bad business decisions are being made above. The sales people who didn’t like such a declining work environment left for better opportunities that will allow them to grow and prosper. There is a high turnover in the company and particularly in sales.

We appreciate your personal views and feedback. We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. As you know, one of our values is Open, and had you shared your experiences through the internal channels at the time, steps would have been proactively taken to address your feedback. Our company culture is a core part of us at LandTech, and one that consistently receives over 80% ENPs from all our staff in all surveys over the past 3 years, with a genuine affinity shared between all those who work side by side together across the company at all levels. It is a shame to hear that you have a different view of your colleagues and company following your departure. As you note, like many other global companies in 2022, we unfortunately had to make a small number of redundancies recently to optimise our business model. Whilst all businesses need to do this from time to time, we were genuine and intentional in the care and dignity we applied to our people that were impacted, and offered alternative roles where possible, along with support for their new chapters ahead. When it comes to benefits, we do indeed invest in our people by providing a market-leading offering, with the Personal Growth Fund that you had noted being one of the 21 that we offer. Our foundations based on being a collaborative, inclusive and harmonious innovative group of people remains our firm anchor as we continue to expand as a company wide team; and our benefits, career progression, and compensation and reward will all continue to champion, recognise and celebrate all our people on meritocracy principles and no other! There is no perfect company or perfect people, and there are, of course, continual improvements we are making. Your sentiments and concerns will certainly be something we will consider for the future, and we also invite you to reach out to us directly if you want to discuss anything further on your experience here, or if we can at all support you in the next chapter of your career - our door is always open. We want to thank you for having been a part of us and wish you well for the future. Kind regards People Operations
