Surprisingly Awful

Pros

You will receive a paycheck once a month. It may not be as big as you were promised, but it’s a check.

Cons

Work hard, get more responsibilities, expect a big raise at the end of the year to compensate for the new responsibilities, don’t get the raise because they’ve figured out you’ll do the work for your current salary.

Pros

You will have some really good co-workers

Cons

To many to list. Basically if you don't work 60+ hours a week, answer emails on the weekends and answer your phone when you are on vacation you will be labeled as a bad employee. Almost all of the good employees have already left so the folks that are leftover have to pickup the slack. There is never any room in the budget for anything unless of course an Executive wants something or they need their newly company leased vehicle upgraded. Image is everything in this company especially if you are in the CIOs leadership chain. As long as others think you are doing well and you provide a positive vibe that makes the CIO look good you will be ok. As soon as you upset this person or have a time where you cause the impression of this persons department to look bad then you will be bullied and pushed out the door in no time. Don't expect any thank you' s and you better look busy even when you are heading to the bathroom. This company continues to hire all these high end folks that don't contribute to anything but add huge amounts to the payroll then they wonder why they get outbid for most jobs.

Pros

Pay is decent. Your first and last day will be your happiest here.

Cons

Pay is decent but you will work more hours here then you ever have before. Expect to work 55-60 hour weeks along with answering emails and calls on the weekends. It’s expected you do this. The company has been spiraling downhill every since it was bought out by an Italian company. Lane never followed it Care for People garbage values anyways and it’s worse with the Italians. Corporate is just a show of who’s on the good list and who’s on the naughty list. The C level executives are so entitled but you better smile and be happy or they will use it against you. The key to remember at Lane is that you are just a body filling a spot. You better express how thankful and honored you are for being allowed to work here. This company has had at least a 60% employee turn around in the last 2 years. The smart ones are leaving in droves while the weak ones put in more hours and take the abuse from the leaders for how poorly everyone’s attitude is. The CEO is just a puppet for the Italians.
