It honestly doesn't feel like they respect you as a person. The hours are ridiculous, including Saturdays and Sundays, and a lot of the time you won't even know you have to stay until, say, 8 pm until last possible minute. Literally, I was told our days were from 9-7 on weekdays and that just wasn't true. I was made to stay past 7 when I'd made a prior commitment and then WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE 5 MINUTES TO CALL AND ENSURE THAT I COULD MAKE THE PROPER ARRANGEMENTS. I was honestly forced to stand up a prior engagement and then, knowing that I had to run (at this point it's about 8pm) because I'd genuinely screwed someone over and had been unable to contact them, kept me for an extra five minutes saying absolutely NOTHING. Since it's a sales-driven job, they're really, really good at making you believe one thing when in reality it's something COMPLETELY different. You're not allowed to sit down, EVER, even on train rides to and from the locations you're going to work in. I was on the train having a hot flash (they run in my family) and not only was I not allowed to sit down or have any water, but the leader I was with had the audacity to ask me what could be done to help me after telling me that I could not sit down or have any water. They don't provide any water in the office either so if you need to hydrate more while you're on your feet for hours on end in an office with no AC....good luck. And I was not allowed to go purchase a bottle either when there was a store next door, I was about to pass out, and I would have been back in a good 45 seconds. The job is literally getting to work at 8 or 9 am depending on the day, spending 3 hours on your feet in a room with 100 other people yelling over each other all trying to learn different things, and then going out into the field for 6 hours with one 10 minute lunch break trying to get people going about their day to donate to charities. You're those people everyone hates. Also the rate of pay is very weird and unclear. There are no time cards either, so I'm honestly concerned about my compensation now that I've quit. Also, you do not get a copy of your employee contract. Overall the people seemed great but I felt very slave-driven at this job. The whole thing just felt very cult/pyramid scheme-y. I am all for being 100% committed to a job, but not at the sake of my health, well being and personal commitments, all of which my very limited time of employment here has threatened. ALSO, I think the company got a bad rep and literally just.....changed their name. I've found reviews on here for something called "lively group" or something similar and the reviews are just awful. If you're not a great company who treats their employees with such little respect, you can not escape that by changing your name. Maybe start by changing literally anything else first.
