    I worked at Lloyd's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with, family atmosphere.

    Cons

Too many management level staff have been there 20+years and are hampering progress with backward mentality. Far too many projects running simultaneously with small resource pool.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the new recruits and stop trying to modernise at pace for the sake of it. Please please address the old guard issue, especially in ITG.

I worked at Lloyd's (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly people, interesting industry. Good place to get a flavour for the insurance market as a whole and learn about possible careers. Good work/ life balance. Staff seemed content.

    Cons

Lots of administrative jobs acting as a quasi-regulator not necessarily at the heart of the action.

I have been working at Lloyd's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

30 days leave and maybe location.

    Cons

Lloyd's has no interest in career progression or making improvements to the work environment. Morale is on the floor and unlikely to rise in the medium term. This is due to the utter stagnation colleagues feel here, but also because cuts to the Corporation are made as gestures to the underperforming market despite the obvious lack of connection between the two. Where inefficiencies do exist these are poorly identified, rarely acted upon, and where action is desired, often subject to personal protection of senior management as their own private fiefdoms.

I worked at Lloyd's (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you work in London you will be in the iconic building. There are some great people working here and you can learn about the nuances of the Lloyds Insurance market

    Cons

Considering how innovative the insurance is, the IT to support the Corperation is extremely risk adverse and therefore lags behind. It takes too long to get a project approved, so most people circumvent IT and bring in an outside company that means nothing is connected. There are too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

    Advice to Management

There are some great people working at the company, let them do their jobs, stop micro managing and remove more of the layers of people who sit in meetings with no agenda and no actionable outcomes.

    I worked at Lloyd's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

In general there is very good behaviour at Lloyd's. It is a place full of opportunity if you have the right skills. It is trying to re-imagine itself on several fronts whilst maintaining an existing set of relationships.

    Cons

    Its slow to get technology.
