Rewarding but stressful

Pros

Previous to working at Logikcull I worked at a large company in Silicon Valley. At a company that size it is hard to find your place and feel like your work is impactful. I chose to work at Logikcull because it is a small company focusing on large problems. The work of each individual has a significant and immediate impact on our customers. Working at Logikcull is a collaborative effort rather than a top-down "do-as-your-manager-says" approach. You have some flexibility to pick your projects and own them. Logikcull has been around for 12 years but they have done a tremendous job of keeping the startup culture strong by staying hungry; plus a weekly game night!

Cons

The problems we are tackling are hard for a company of any size. Given the sensitive nature of the legal industry and the demands of our customers the work is stressful. There are always pains with growing a company and Logikcull is no exception. As a result of this environment, thinking immediate and practically has become a virtue. The legal industry is notoriously slow to adopt new technology and Logikcull has to abide in many cases. There are things you can not change, no matter how messed up you think they are, and you have to accept that and move forward. If you have a move fast and break stuff attitude, Logikcull is not for you.

Pros

Logikcull has a great remote culture, flexible working and a work life balance that most could only dream of. I love that I have the freedom and trust to manage my own time and work load and that there is no micromanagement. Employees here are truly valued and everyone has a voice and the opportunity to speak up, ask questions and make an impact. The Logikcull culture is one that encourages personal growth and progression while continuously working toward creating a best in class product and user experience for our customers that we can all be proud of. Employees from across the business are proactive in helping each other and pushing each other to do better and be better, there is a genuine “in this together” environment which means we can collectively achieve great things. The work we do here is impactful and challenging, fun and inclusive and most importantly driven by our customers.

Cons

At this present time I have zero cons to list in this space.

Pros

As a former employee, I was always inspired by Logikcull's mission to help democratize discovery and the technology they provide to law firms. That's why I was a bit disappointed to read the below reviews because they seem manipulative, fake, and written by one person within 1-2 days. Come on, you can do better. Listen, I still believe Logikcull is solving a real problem, they're funded by great VC firms, and provide a great career opportunity. There are a lot of great people at Logikcull and you should take time to get to know them in the interview process.

Cons

There have been a number of leadership changes and turnover that seems to be systemic. I'd recommend you speak with the employees during the interview process and then also go search LinkedIn for all of the former employees. I am not saying someone should not take the job, however I'd recommend doing more research on the company because these Glassdoor reviews below seem odd.

Hey, Andy here. Thanks for sharing your feedback. There’s a lot to unpack here: 1 - Re: Our mission. Our mission to democratize discovery is indeed a genuine one and I’m happy that it attracted you to Logikcull in the first place. Read our customer reviews here: https://www.capterra.com/p/142312/Logikcull/#reviews 2 - Re: Valid reviews. You mention the employee Glassdoor reviews as being “manipulative and fake”, but you also mention Logikcull being a great career opportunity and that there are a lot of great people at Logikcull. I have no way of knowing since these reviews are anonymous, but I assume that the same great people you mention are the ones writing these positive reviews. 3 - Re: leadership changes. This year we’ve been fortunate enough to bring on LauraLee Guerrero as our first VP of People & Places, Michelle Price as our first VP of Design, and Patrick Barry as our first COO. There have been no other leadership changes. 4 - Re: Turnover. Being a fast-growing tech company we’re not immune to turnover. The technology sector has the highest turnover at 13.2%. See data here: https://business.linkedin.com/talent-solutions/blog/trends-and-research/2018/the-3-industries-with-the-highest-turnover-rates As of Q218 our turnover is actually under the tech sector industry standard at 8%. That said, we can, and will, do better. We have close to a dozen employees that have been with Logikcull for over 5 years, and 5 of them have been here for 10+ years. We’re building a company that will last. So we hope to see more people celebrate 5, 10, 15, and 20+ year anniversaries. 5 - Re: Speaking with employees. We know that when candidates are interested in a role at Logikcull they are interviewing us as much as we are interviewing them. We provide employees with multiple rounds of interviews including both technical and cultural questions, with employees across departments, and we leave room for candidates to be able to ask any questions they have of us. We also encourage candidates to find our staff on LinkedIn to prepare for their interviews. We agree that employees should do their research! 6 - Re: Press coverage and the CEO spotlight. We do our best to highlight our amazing employees whenever we can. At all hands events. On the blog. And in interviews. Meet our new VP of Design, Michelle Price: https://blog.logikcull.com/buildingtheloop/logikculls-michelle-price-on-customer-first-design Whew! That was a lot to unpack. Glassdoor is great, but it’s important to hear both sides of these reviews so that, in your words, people can do their homework. Otherwise it’s just hearsay. I hope this was helpful to whomever happens to read these replies! Andy, CEO
