Pros

Worked with some awesome people and was able to have that early-stage start up experience which can be fun if you are into lots of change. Remote environment is straightforward, though lack of standard meeting structure leads to a lot of wasted time, and managers don't have time to micro-manage you, so good if you are self-directed. Career development is possible only if you happen to have a manager who has time to focus on it who also likes you.

Cons

Unfortunately, this company will never progress past early-stage. They hired on some execs who have been clearly prioritizing their own interests (Sales VP & HR VP specifically) over what is best for the company, and the CEO and co-founder are so young and inexperienced they are easy for more expereinced leaders to take advantage of. Also the marketing VP lasted about a minute and never delivered anything discernable to the company which seems like a waste of money. The product VP is in so far over his head he will throw literally anyone under the bus regardless of what level or department just to deflect attention which means no one trusts him at all. They also laid off a bunch of people due to finances after the sales VP and sales leadership failed epically but we are still at this moment all in Mexico for a company offsite for a week which entails flying in people from all over the world. I am sure people would rather keep their jobs or get a better severance package than be in Mexico for a week. It's a bad look overall, but many people are talking about leaving soon anyway and just wanted to get this trip for free. Finally, sales leadership communicated to the team that the people laid off were failing which directly contradicted the company wide message from the CEO about it just being a neccessary layoff so which is it? 23 people fired for performance issues or just a necessary layoff? They also showed us all a slide of who was all let go and said it was 23 people but only listed 21, which left us all scratching our heads. Can't say their are career ops here considering all this and they stopped paying competitively awhile ago (unless Director levl or above).
