Pros

-You can run errands during the day if needed since you're in outside sales which is cool -It's ran so bad that they frequently mess up on commissions and once and a while they are in your favor -401k plan wasn't bad, they match 4% but you need to be there 5 years to become vested and the investment options offered were pretty weak

Cons

-Low pay, you will start at 40k/year and be expected to work minimum 10-12 hour days -Car allowance sucks and they track everywhere you go each day and review that when you submit it every week to see if you were actually prospecting -Insurance is really bad. Pretty much the same cost to see doctors and get prescriptions if you didn't have insurance at all. Make sure you're not planning of having a baby while you work there -Upper management sees you as a number and they make that pretty clear -Lack of help and guidance. Selling copiers is a process and if you're not familiar with it, there's a big learning curve. -Lack of communication. Getting even a simple email back can be a huge challenge -Super high turnover. If you stay a year, you're now a veteran in the company.. congrats! Now sell more or you will get put on disciplinary action plan -THE COMP PLAN. Every year I saw it restructured to pay less and make bonuses more unobtainable. Bonuses aren't basically a thing there anymore, scary to think what the 2019 plan has in store -How they take care of their customers. It seems like their model is get them to sign for 5 years.. then forget about all the great things we told them about MRC because they are literally stuck with us.. seriously, good luck trying to get out of a copier contract. It won't happen. -Listening to the same 8 reps get multiple awards at every company event *Side note - Ignore their promises for 'how much you will make in X years'. It's a lie, a big one. They will get you all hyped, hope you sell to a couple new accounts(that they will have locked down for 5 years making profit off of while they give you maybe $100 bucks commission) then expect you to leave or fire you when you can't hit their unrealistic numbers while they pass those accounts to the 8 reps so they stick around. I didn't realize how unhappy I was working there. I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone unless it's a last resort. I'm not one to hold a grudge but in this case I am. I'm mad that I wasted two years on fake promises, broken communication, and lies from a company that has so much potential to be a great place to work for. If you want to give it a go at copier sales I'd wouldn't recommend MRC being your first choice. There's a ton out there, trust me. I know, because we would lose to them all the time because 5 minutes of research will show MRC is extremely overpriced and their customer service is basically non-existent.

We do understand that we are in a tough industry that is not for everyone, so to support our new reps as much as possible we offer a 4-week training program to go over products as well as tips on going through the sales cycle. It is unfortunate to hear that you did not enjoy your time here at MRC. We hope that you brought these issues to your Manager and HR while you were still with us. Great co-workers Learned how to cold call Learned that you don't have to have talent or skill to be a manager

EVERYTHING ELSE. I wish I ran away from this opportunity. Working at MRC was the most stressful time of my life. If you like micro-management you'll LOVE MRC. Be ready to: - Role play at daily 7:45am kick off meetings - Keep everyone at the company updated on what you're doing all day on a company wide email thread - Get harassed by your manager if you're taking part in the company wide emails - Have your manager sit directly behind you while making phone calls to new clients - Have super unprofessional managers who remind you on a weekly basis that you're replaceable and "sales isn't for everyone.." - Daily meetings at 4:45 to review how your day was .. how many cold calls you made, how many appointments you had, how many times you went to the bathroom, what you had for lunch... - BUT!! Don't worry!! They know exactly where you were at all times because they track you on your work phone. - Stay late to work on proposals and deliverables most nights until 6 or 7pm - Get ask why you don't want to stay at work for 12 hours a day to which your manager will add, "you know I have a family too and I stay at work from 7am - 7pm" - Yay! You got a deal!!!! Cool! So what deal are you closing next?... - When you're in the office you'll hear about sports all day long! You'll hear dirty jokes, derogatory comments about staff and clients! - Someone at MRC will ask you to leave a positive galssdoor review, don't worry you'll get put in a raffle to win a gift card!!! - Bi-annual kick off and mid year meetings... the President of the company will let you know that MRC makes $45,000 per hour!!! WOW!!! But only pay their sales reps $40,000 per year... - The ever changing comp plan is a complete joke I honestly feel bad writing this but I wish I new what I was getting into before I started. I was really well-liked at the company, made great sales, and "played their games really well." There is no chance of upward mobility so if you're content being a sales rep forever this might be the place for you. If you're looking to use this place as a stepping stone this might also be a good fit for you (if you don't mind subjecting yourself to what I've explained above.)

The app on the phone is to ensure that you're being reimbursed for your mileage so you are able to get the money that you're traveling for when meeting with clients.
