Don't Expect a Paycheck

Pros

The people are great and competent, but management refuses to use their expertise.

Cons

Where to start? Out of all the problems, the biggest is you wake up on payday with no money in your account...with no warning. The powers that be decide who gets paid when at their leisure, with no regard or respect for their employees financial responsibilities. This happened a minimum of ten times during my tenure. Every time, we would ask for at least a warning that it was happening so we could plan accordingly, but it never happened. Of course, you were still expected to work, even without pay. Just say no.

Pros

Really great people on the team

Cons

None of the great people on the team are allowed to do their job. Management behaves as if it is threatened by competence, actively inhibiting the pursuit of excellence, self-realization, and success. Management is malignantly narcissistic, consistently abusive and demeaning, at times even misogynist and racially insensitive. The result is a toxic environment, high turnover and frequent labor board claims.
