Pros

Nice office, free fruit and hot drinks, dog friendly

Cons

The department I landed in was deeply dysfunctional. Some very nice people in the team but also some, including managers, quite rude and aggressive. One meeting I had where I was bullied by two management level staff from different departments (something I will never forget). Workload was completely overwhelming. What company can afford to leave emails unanswered for three months? Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Flat hierarchy? It was extremely hierarchical. One of the company's values is to do away with ego. I encountered three managers with egos the size of houses. So glad to get out. It was a nightmare. Funny how the reviews aggregator on here in December was 3.2 but after an employee charm offensive in January it jumped up to 4.1. If you have to encourage staff to leave positive reviews then you know you're doing it all wrong...

Pros

I was hired with the promise that I'd be joining a great company with a culture that was different from other jobs I've worked for. I believed this for the first month that I worked for Marley Spoon, and even got to meet Martha Stewart.

Cons

I feel like I have been lied to over and over again. I'm doing my best to keep my head down and to work hard, and yet management in the Newark building constantly throws the associates under the bus when they mess up with the schedule or with getting rid of people who aren't hard workers. It's really frustrating how they treat us. When corporate isn't here they are barely on the floor and don't interact with us except when they yell but when the bosses or Martha are here they pretend to care about us or the work. It's a complete joke and it's gotten way worse over the past few months. I report to a manager who tells us that he has to act like this in front of corporate and that he knows how hard we work but I've seen him turn his back on workers after he said this. No one in management can be trusted!
