Pros

The salary was reasonable. The students were great.

Cons

This company states that they were founded in 2018 and that is true. However, this company truly didn't get off the ground until 2022 and it shows. The company flies by the seat of it's pants. There's not much thought or reasoning that goes into decisions. In particular by the schools teams. I felt horrible for the students because Monday mornings would arrive and they would not have access to their sprints because the instructors were not finished with them. This was normal. Students were unaware of the issues because we had to play nice and make up something to share with the students while their sprints were being completed. I had also been told on numerous occasions that I was the best Student Success Manager at the company. However, management changed our ours from 9a-5p to working 9a-9p/10p/11p depending on the day. I did not get breaks as I was forced to respond within 60 seconds of receiving a message. I shared with management that due to the new hours(we were given 24 hours notice) that I was unable to use the bathroom, get a glass of water, feed my children or take them to afterschool activities. I told them for a couple of weeks that I am not able to fulfil my obligations as a father and my manager told me that he would fix it. He did fix it...by terminating me. Despite being told by multiple managers how great I am, never being reprimanded, never being told to improve in any area they fired me because I shared that 12-14 hour days were too much. They said that they terminated me due to performance. That was a lie as there was nothing on my record excellent performance. They did the same thing to the other US employee that shared my position. Fortunately, I knew that I would be terminated because for about 3-4 weeks straight my managers ignored my questions and kept scheduling meetings with me and cancelling them and scheduling HR meetings. When I told them that I knew I was going to be terminated they said, "we were hoping to surprise you". This is a poorly run company and it was a breath of fresh air to no longer work there. I encourage the company to hire people who have experience in ed tech or in education. Most people have no relevant experience but if you are willing to work 6-7 days a week and be available 24 hours a day then you will have a chance to advance in the company.
