Pros

MSC continues to thrive through the COVID crisis. And through these difficult times the management has tried to support employees and their work from home.

Cons

The pressure of work can be intense but MSC strives for excellence, and so is demanding.

Pros

For freshers: 1. No tangible responsibility: therefore an work environment akin to college internships 2. All expenses paid trips across the country. lucky ones get to travel abroad as well (mostly in underdeveloped and developing nations though) 3. Annual parties are fun filled with 80% employee below the age of 30 For Experienced Professionals: 1. Break away from serious delivery oriented jobs 2. Opportunity to travel within India and in under-developed and developing countries 3. Opportunity to brag about previous experience since > 60% of the peers are freshers 4. Have comfortable working relationship with managers since not much is expected 5. Opportunity to earn good salary and bonus despite not really earning anything for the company 6. Good stop gap opportunity before one gets a job of his/ her choice For every level: MicroSave does have some brand equity with MFIs in India and some multilateral development organisations around the world, thanks to its FEW founders/ directors, which can be leveraged to get better jobs. Most of the experienced employees have actually done that successfully!!

Cons

For Freshers: If you think you want to become a meaningful and serious professional and not really keen on working in development sector steer clear of this organisation If you would not compromise with a solid foundation of your career steer clear of this one For Serious Experienced Professionals: This is only a mezzanine arrangement. Staying longer can potentially hamper any future prospect of getting employed with reputed corporate/ business organisation and certainly not into any serious consulting firm Lack of leadership quality within existing managers. They make that up with micromanagement or total delegation. Nothing much to learn either way. There is no structured KPI format for any employee. Expectations are fuzzy and most old employees are manipulative and highly judgemental. Poor work life balance due to mindless projects, excessive travelling in the guise of fieldwork, long layovers at airports, regular check in meetings at different locations, useless team huddles and week long half yearly meetings Certain project locations do pose security threat. However, option to say no is non-existent

Not a good organization for women

Pros

- Good exposure to different projects - Good organisation for a fresher

Cons

MicroSave is not able to able to manage team structure. They tend to have a lot of people in middle management. When entry-level employees are eligible for promotion, they tend to push people out (especially women who are married or are of childbearing age).
