Pros

Good place to earn experience. Among the best facilities in the world.

Cons

A place for work but not a career. Plenty of carrot dangling but no progression. Very disconnected management who are oblivious to the issues. Management are cruising to retirement and have no ambition to make changes. Pay reviews don't happen because "insert generic excuse". Biyearly redundancies, always at lower technician and engineer levels, never the management that put them in that position.

A Company Lost

Pros

The people are great to work with, the setting is brilliant, the work is varied and can be engaging. I've learned a lot in my time and enjoyed some fun projects as well as shaping my career

Cons

The merger has been underway for two years and the top table is overstaffed, the engineering/operations team are threadbare. There is no clear direction on procedures and policies from France, feels very much like an island with no drive or direction. Too much power in France and culture and values piece is lost. Zero diversity and inclusion The brain drain is very much underway with several staff leaving each month and HR too slow to fill the positions (or Management too slow to sign-off the req for replacing staff). Those who remain are being flogged to death and often there is only one person to a speciality so there is no future-proofing. When you do leave, you are effectively treated like you're toxic. It all well and good to be told not to burn your bridges and leave politely - advice that UTAC should try to follow
