Award-Winning Agency That Cares

Pros

An award-winning agency with a very talented team. It's well-established and respected in the area and has organically grown larger and more capable. The employees are talented and have an internal drive towards excellence. Clients are happy and often rely on quality input from the agency to direct their efforts. The management team genuinely cares about the team members and works to support their needs and well-being in a demanding field. Management listens to feedback and works with team members to create a better workplace. I've seen numerous changes for the better, resulting from the leadership's openness to feedback. Teams have become more cohesive, better at collaborating, and increased the overall quality of output. This has been not only a point of pride internally but also noticed by clients who gained higher quality products from an already award-winning team.

Cons

Pay is on the low side (but is growing!) The inescapable time it takes to implement changes in a growing company leaves some employees discontent.

Pros

The agency director is a true creative. She can meet with a potential client, quickly assess their status, needs and opportunities and drop a bunch of relevant ideas on the table. If you're starting out in this business, being in on meetings is an education. The culture is supportive and the staff are very talented. Agency leadership in general is devoted to best practices and dedicated to working in the most agile and efficient framework. Leadership is also understanding and accommodating to needs outside the workplace. The founder provides a significant level of pro bono and consulting to nonprofits and fundraising agents in the community at large. Miranda Creative is often unrecognized for this, because the agency doesn't try to profit from its community-building work. Nonetheless, this is a business that helps people, Even when it's not getting paid.

Cons

The director is used to having to do everything on her own, which speaks to her strengths and vision as an entrepreneur. There needs to be a mid-level management structure in place that enables her to step back and trust her people. The agency is pursuing both this and enhanced audience development tools and strategies for clients.
