Babysitting only; No teaching opportunities

Pros

If you're looking for babysitting then there's a lots of work, especially Wednesdays. The phone interview was short and explained how the system works. They gave me access to their database. I had to complete some information on my account and access their database for clients myself. You input your availability and clients will appear who are available at the same time. You select who you want then Speaking Agency will set up a meeting.

Cons

I'm a qualified English teacher who "joined" Speaking-Agency hoping to be hired as a teacher, not as a babysitter. There's literally no people/students/clients who use Speaking-Agency for language learning in the Lyon area, it's primarily babysitting only. Even with 24/7 availability, there weren't any students in Lyon according to their database. I'm assuming it'd be slightly better for Paris but I don't have high hopes if one of the biggest cities in the country had 0 people available. No contract with the company itself; you're simply registered in their database after a 5min phone conversation. You sign contracts with the individual families after a meeting and they're the ones who are considered to be your employers, not Speaking-Agency. The company is effectively just a middle-man. Never received any follow up support or contact from the company after I was registered. During the phone interview I mentioned my concern for no students wanting to take proper English lessons and the lady said to continue checking the database regularly and they'd do a follow up with me; never happened. Basically it's your responsibility to find your own clients through their database and if there's no one available then bad luck for you. You may as well continue freelancing as the pay is better and students are generally much easier to find outside of companies.

Pros

The avantages are the flexible hours

Cons

They constantly play with your money and i have a vague impression they are not very clear ! i think they have stolen money from me and do so to all the other employees. Plus we are supposed to be payed on the 13th of the month and the 31st and i think that's when they "play around with your money " but obviously there are always problems. i wouldn't recommend this agency to anyone because i really think they are thiefs.
