Pros

Some pretty cool people around. Interesting insights. Nice room in a skyscraper. Training started impressively but rapidly declined. Free meals at times which was appreciated.

Cons

Illegally refused a pension without reason or notice of deferrment. Felt like a ghost employee, no record of my employment on the first day at the office, therefore, my credentials couldn’t be sourced and equipment/passes weren’t immediately provided. A disconcerting start, further compounded by hearing a conversation of an employee randomly being let go which seemed a surprise attack. Ultimately knew at that point there was no longevity to be gained from this employment choice. Strange attitude towards ‘players’ espoused by some colleagues. Understaffed which led to insane wait times for various processes, seemed punishing. The job role itself began to morph into something unexpected, which became another reason to walk. Training schedule was handled well in the first few weeks and then seemed to be revoked regarding that roadmap, which was confusing. The company’s moonshot is a delusion and quite insulting. Feedback was mixed, or sometimes absent, it felt like your work would be diluted to fit a certain mould, loss of writing voice. Dependence on ChatGPT over critical thinking and creativity, unstimulating. Sadly an unprofessional company that has no interest in employee welfare, development and acknowledgement. Holiday system seemed sus. Felt betrayed very quickly and a loss of trust established within a month is a killer. Mr Fellas is rude and surrounded by cult members.

Pros

Some colleagues are decent and the industry is quite interesting to learn about. Nothing else is beneficial about working here.

Cons

Management, including the CEO, exhibits a micromanaging approach that often comes across as unprofessional and lacking real-world working experience. This lack of exposure to industry norms and practices is palpable throughout the company. The Customer Service/Player Experience role is notably underpaid, reflecting a broader trend of minimal compensation and benefits across the organisation. The responsibilities significantly exceed what is outlined in the job description. In this role, you’ll often act as a therapist, handling complex and challenging issues such as addiction, abuse, high-risk cases, AML compliance, and more. Before accepting a position, ensure you thoroughly enquire about the full scope of responsibilities and what the training process entails. The role requires emotional resilience and a readiness to face high-pressure situations daily. Micromanagement is a prominent feature of the company culture. Every moment of your workday is closely monitored, with tasks dictated to you rather than entrusted to your judgment. The lack of autonomy and trust can feel infantilising. If you are comfortable working under constant oversight and direction, this environment may suit you. Otherwise, it’s worth considering these factors carefully.

Pros

Good exposure to modern AI tools and experimentation. Pleasant office environment with quality facilities. Many colleagues are friendly and capable.

Cons

The company relies heavily on EOS-style quarterly planning and management style (read up on it before applying), with leadership defining in detail what teams will deliver rather than empowering product and engineering teams to determine the best way to Get s**t done (which is funnily enough meant to be a value) This creates a very top-down environment and limits autonomy, ownership, and modern product and engineering practices. There appears to be consistently high turnover across product and engineering, including engineers and managers, which creates instability and makes it difficult to build long-term momentum. Ways of working feel more old fashioned than discovery-led or empowered. There is also an expectation of high availability, contributing to weaker work/life balance than advertised. Also look at the influx of 5 star reviews all at the same time, suspicious?

Thanks for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback and for being part of the Qrew. We’re really glad there were positives in your experience - especially around the people, office environment, and the chance to experiment with newer tools and tech. We also appreciate the honest feedback around autonomy, structure, and ways of working within product and engineering. As we continue to grow, we’re constantly challenging how we work and how we balance alignment with giving teams more ownership over how they deliver. On the reviews point - we actively encourage people across the business to share honest feedback, whether it’s Love Q or Hate Q. Thanks again for keeping it real, and we wish you all the best moving forward.
