    Pros

Fun office environment, everyone really nice and loves the brand

    Cons

Corporate environment where all decisions are led by domestic so you can't achieve any change in international territories.

    Advice to Management

    Democratise decisions more!

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free beverage all day great perks, Summer Fridays for almost 3 months (being able to finish at 1:30 pm), good location, some of their employees are very valuable

    Cons

Very corporate environment with very little room for success unless you are very political. The management is not uniform and your experience at NBC can be absolutely different depending on your manager. Different areas of the business have different cultures, different HR departments and leaders, causing flexible hours for some employees but not for others depending on the area you work for amongst many... other disparities across departments. Too many people are seen to be getting senior jobs without the knowledge or skills that the role requires and the junior people don't feel safe to speak up being afraid of retaliation. Managmenet made my personal and professional experience at NBC very negative, and this was reported to HR. Although employees are entitled to have an exit interview when leaving the company, HR never approached me for mine.

    Advice to Management

Management: treat others the way that you would want to be treated and have respect for your employees and the rest of the staff. HR: should intervene and open investigations proactively when non acceptabe behaviours have been brought to their attention and follow up on these cases.

    I worked at NBCUniversal full-time

    Pros

Great perks (Premiere tickets, great pension plan, etc), cool office, talented and friendly colleagues, opportunity to work on big projects.

    Cons

Very difficult to get promoted, even more difficult to get a pay rise, antiquated IT systems, few women in high level leadership positions.

    Advice to Management

Hire fewer VPs and SVPs and focus on developing and promoting junior and mid level employees. Cheaper and better for the organisation long term.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in London, England

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

A big effort is made on fringe benefits like free coffee fun stuff to do for healthy week digifest to engage with new tech.

    Cons

The more senior you are the less likely you are to have any time to engage beyond your day job. There is a culture of creating jobs around people not business so be prepared to politic if you want to rise. Flexibility really does depend on where you are in the organisation too.

    Advice to Management

Too many people are seen to be getting senior jobs without the in-depth know how the role requires and more junior people don't feel safe to speak up.
