Money I need more money

Wildly neglectful of safety, multiple OSHA violations that I was at the time too afraid to report for fear of retaliation. Had to go over my supervisor’s head regularly to have basic safety code reinforced. Someone had an ER level incident as a result of neglect to safety training and still nothing changed. Pay was very under the normal range for the area, I took the position out of desperation and left ASAP after seeing how they treat people.

Too much politics and favoritism

Required to work in the office even though position does not work directly with students or faculty and can be performed 100% remotely.

Pay. Raises are usually 1.5% every couple of years. Ridiculous

Salary, but have to keep in mind that the funding comes from student tuition. Promotional opportunities can be limited depending on where in the university you are working.

The pay is not great and in this economy just doesn't cut it. There is no room for growth.

Hierarchy, management- my own personal experience with management was horrible. Micro managed to the enth degree. Told to attend meetings, but do not speak. Was warned not to converse with any supervisor, researcher or professor unless I included my supervisor in every email. Was warned to never address a professor by their first name. The only time I filed a complaint I learned my lesson there would never be any kind of support for me.

Everything is slow and takes time for onboarding. HR is not the greatest for the employees.
