      I worked at NaviNet

      Pros

The company offers standard perks like days out, free food, etc. Generally a relaxed workspace, with some flexibility on hours.

      Cons

Some of the work is less challenging than may be expected. There is a lot to learn for new hires.

I worked at NaviNet full-time for more than a year

      Pros

It is hard to find a working environment in Northern Ireland that is better than NaviNet. Engineers are treated exceptionally well. Teams are well thought out and are well structured (dedicated QA in teams is a stroke of genius). The lean/kanban development approach works well with the products that they build. Senior Management have a good grasp of the technical challenges faced and allow engineers time to build...

      Cons

The work is not the most challenging. NaviNet in Belfast has an intense recruitment process which results in very talented engineers being employed to do mediocre work. The laid back management approach can be a turn off for some, as boredom sets in quickly and there's only so much table tennis you can play. Some teams and peer groups are cliquey and there's a perception that internal promotions are based on who their...

      Advice to Management

You know when people are bored. Take the first step and support those who feel that way. It obvious who they are. Other than that keep up the good work!

I have been working at NaviNet

      Pros

Great work environment with supportive team members and management. Considerable amount of time dedicated to research rather than just hammering out code, testing and releasing. Small perks like pizza friday, company sponsored events. You get fed almost once a week on average by the company. 2 company events each year which are a full day off work. Half day Fridays through August.

      Cons

Pension contribution not as good as other companies in Belfast No bonus, but salaries are reasonably good

I have been working at NaviNet full-time for less than a year

      Pros

      * The company is going through an interesting time as it moves from a custom solution to a product-based solution for the domain in which it operates. * The company is well established within the healthcare communications space but given the last point it feels almost like a start-up in someways. A lot of energy and excitement around the office. * The company will be successful with it's move to a product solution -...

      Cons

      * There is a lot of information to absorb in a short space of time to try and make an effective contribution. * The lack of established processes mean hiccups will occur along the way but the no-blame culture in place means this doesn't become a huge problem.

      Advice to Management

      * Keep doing what you are doing, keep encouraging your people to go fast and ensure that the no-blame culture remains in place.

      Cons

      - Being an American company working for the American market with the main offices in Boston, the Belfast office can sometimes feel a little detached - Some legacy systems remain, but are quickly being phased out
