Outside of the company wide meetings, there is no feel of company culture at all. All departments feel very separate, there’s not a culture of support and collaboration.
CS felt like a toxic environment, very micromanaged, over-monitored and few opportunities for professional development. They have very high staff turnover in CS and I think maybe they should have a sit down and think about why because it’s clear they’re doing something that’s losing them good staff.
Training was poor when we were brought on, they throw you in at the deep end and leave you to fend for yourself because there’s little support from management.
Other notable cons:
-poor communication between teams, which makes it hard to do your job well in CS
-overemphasis on (unclear) metrics when monitoring employees, you’ll get told off for “underperforming” with no clear idea what you’re doing wrong
-high pressure, high stress for what is essentially sun-market pay
-work is not fairly divided between CS agents, some end up doing far more than others with no recognition
-no obvious opportunities for progression/growth
-over-monitoring of CS agents leads to lack of agency/feelings of mistrust
-when I was there management made 6 people cry in as many months, there is no excuse for that
At it’s best it was great, at its worst I was too afraid to grab a coffee and go to the toilet for fear of being told off
