Pros
Obie is on a great trajectory in terms of company success. It’s been recently acquired, done several rounds of funding and is positioned competitively in a pretty saturated market. Its rebrand gave it a fresh face although with a similar model, however, its product suite grows continuously even leaning in to SaaS territory. Culture and community are very important to Obie, there are tons of committees, slack channels and opportunities to get to know your remote teammates and feel involved as well.
Cons
The ability to grow at Obie is exceedingly difficult and changes team to team. They base raises and promotions on a pool system, so only so many employees can get a promotion every review cycle (every 6 months) - and even if you hit all your targets, or exceed them - if you don't make it in to the bucket for that cycle you will have to wait another half year to try your luck. Restructuring of teams is also pretty standard during this time so as you move under new management you will have to prove your worth pretty often. So while the culture is great, guarding of resources for promotions is standard.
