Pros

The salary was reasonable, and the approach to remote working was good.

Cons

Working outside of the US I was effectively shown from the start how little Onit and the leadership team of the commercial business unit cared about the team in EMEA. False promises were continually made, and any meetings/catch-ups were merely box-ticking exercises. That is a reality of being on a small team acquired by a business though, so can’t be held against them. The sickeningly cheesy structures and deliveries of town hall style meetings were a struggle to stomach at times - it’s easy to spot who the most disingenuous are within the company. They tend to love non-sensical analogies, thinking it makes them look intelligent. After returning from a few weeks of annual leave I was ambushed with a meeting that appeared to be a standard catch-up. Instead I was notified of my position being made redundant, with no reason given. I was told it had nothing to do with my performance, and that they appreciated my contributions to the company. I was given the absolute minimum in terms of support, and expected to work and hand over my responsibilities in the 4 weeks notice as per my notice period. Getting a response or information from those in the senior team, or the HR contact involved, was nigh on impossible, and required multiple chases or follow ups to get a bland and unhelpful email back. I’m still waiting to hear back about commission owed - they wanted proof of me having helped to close a deal but only asked for it after they had removed my email access. No surprises there. I would avoid this company at all costs - no amount of salary or benefits could ever be worth getting involved with a company like this one. The worst I’ve come across in my career so far. As for the CEO Elfman? An egotistical and self-centred man who couldn’t be bothered to remember the names of either myself or my colleague next to me during a short and vapid conversation about American sports. Weak handshake too. There are far more examples I could list out, but I think the ones above paint a pretty accurate picture of the company. I expect them to make more and more cuts unfortunately, as they bleed money like no company I’ve ever seen.
