    Pros

OpenX is an innovative company with a clear vision and strategy. One of the best things about working for this company is spending your days surrounded by great people. Employees across the globe are hard working, smart, creative, helpful, motivating and fun! Management really care about staff and are always looking for ideas and suggestions on how things can get done differently to make them better. It's a great place to start and build your career.

    Cons

    Can't really think of any

    Advice to Management

    I worked at OpenX full-time

    Pros

Great offices, good benefits (daily lunch, contribution to travel expenses, contribution to gym membership, etc).

    Cons

Unfortunately, senior management is not open to receiving any criticism. As soon as you raise any issues or point out problems, you get blacklisted by your manager. This senior management attitude has created a very bad culture of backstabbing and dishonesty.
    HR department is extremely unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Review your senior management and allow personnel to talk freely and raise their concerns.

    Pros

Good people, good company overall. If you are self-motivated you can do absolutely anything.

    Cons

Too much politics at times in the London office. No structure in terms of who does what and not enough training given. Constant fear when guys from US were about to arrive.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you hire a good MD that will motivate people and will make them want to stay.

    Pros

Agile env with scrum. Young and fun to work and play with people. Loved it

    Cons

The scrum implementation was a bit broken, but management was willing on improving things. Considering that it was over 6y ago, it should have been fixed by now.

    Advice to Management

    improve scrum

    I worked at OpenX full-time

    Pros

Good, solid company at its core.
Brand, company messaging clear in the marketplace
Well-known, respected by all including prospects and partners

    Cons

Product Marketing is non existent here. The wrong people have been promoted for two reasons: 1) people left - all the Directors and VPs are gone 2) became a buddy with an executive level.

No one likes this current set up. Don't believe me? ASK the marketing team.

Product Marketing drove away two directors and many other people in our group. Current leadership knows very little about true product marketing and how to maximize brand effectiveness. Just likes to pay kissy face at the office. I understand PM is joining Product now ...SMH.

Look at the history (longevity) of people in Product Marketing.

    Advice to Management

Fix Product Marketing - the problem isn't PM being in Product. The solution is - find a replacement for the leader of that team. Take a hard look at this role.

I have been working at OpenX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits, including matched 401K

    Unlimited PTO policy

Lunch provided 3 days a week

    In-office chair massages

    Smart people

    Good work-life balance

    Cons

There is need to change Technology leadership, if not all, at least the tip of the pyramid . Nothing delivered for last an year, however there is list of "fake" deliverables published. That comes out like a scam (for the lack of better word)

Impulsive decisioning without a thought process is the new way of technology leadership. And if you disagree or express an otherwise opinion, you are asked to leave.

Sarcasm, showdown jokes and self obsessions bloom at the top of thr pyramid and perculates down.

I wish we had a mature tech leaders that could lay down and communicate the next step forwards for OpenX.

    Advice to Management

Please verify what your leadership is doing. Is it really in line with the values of OpenX?

Advice to tech leadership: Leave. OpenX "WILL" do better without you.

I have been working at OpenX full-time

    Pros

Good leadership at the C-level, strong values that are actually upheld and talked about, competitive benefits, challenging work, interesting industry, smart coworkers, respectful and fun workplace, reasonable expectations on most teams about what can be accomplished in what time frame.

    Cons

Currently missing some good leadership/management at various levels

    Advice to Management

The concerns I had in the past about certain areas seem to be getting addressed to an extent. Namely: building the right product and building for the future of ad tech. When I started at OpenX, it seemed like everything we were building was a re-do of existing functionality. It seems the company is finally moving away from that for the most part.
