Pros

People are open minded, progressive, and believe in the creative process Managers treat their employees as real people with feelings and problems - and they are happy to help I got a good offer when I joined which I would not have gotten elsewhere. At the moment Opera is growing and doing good. I'm glad to be a part of it.

Cons

No downsides seen so far. It's been 2 years.

Pros

Some of the people were really great, but majority of those were under appreciated. Some of the benefits were good.

Cons

The Polish branch of this company is deeply flawed at its core. While plenty of people here do great work, the foundation of this office was built on friendships rather than competence. It's most obvious in the HR department, where long-term employees remain in their roles purely because of their personal ties to the management. In all my time here, I’ve never seen them put in a full day’s work. If anyone took the time to actually look into what they do, it would be clear that it’s close to nothing. The HR leadership in this branch is a perfect example of people who add no real value. They have never done anything genuinely beneficial for employees, and I’ve personally seen them mocking colleagues behind their backs. If you ever have an issue at work, do not go to them—they will not only fail to support you but will likely turn it into office gossip. They claim to be too busy to have a meeting, yet a quick look at their calendars reveals there's not much going on there. Yet there's always time to spend an hour on breakfast, another on lunch and then leaving after 5 hours of being in the office and gossiping. And if you ask for help, they’ll find a way to make things harder for you—probably because actually solving problems would mean more work for them. It's such a toxic and unprofessional environment and all play pretend in front of others. The company has also been known to fire people without valid reasons, often in ways that are legally questionable. I was personally pressured into signing termination papers, and when I asked for an explanation, I was told, “This isn’t a feedback session.” I had just 30 minutes to decide—sign or be fired with no additional compensation. Management is no better. My own manager micromanaged me daily. I was told I didn’t “deserve” to take time off unless I hit 100% of my KPIs, and that me taking a holiday that was APPROVED by my manager is a reason my team cannot count on me. There’s zero real support from management when you actually need it, but plenty of blame when something goes wrong. Small problems get blown way out of proportion, while real issues are ignored. Teamwork and collaboration don’t exist in any meaningful way. I’ve also personally witnessed a high level recruitment representative making openly discriminatory comments, even advising against hiring candidates from underrepresented groups because they supposedly “cause issues.” I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The lack of professionalism, leadership, and integrity makes it a company best avoided. At least that's the case for the branch I worked at, although I have to admit I also met some great people there in this and other branches. So maybe try in another country :)
