Pros

PKC Security is a place you want to work if professional development is a driving force for you. You're going to be learning everyday, and be pushed to experiment with that new knowledge. We innovate unique solutions to our clients problems while keeping a user advocate mindset.

Cons

It's a fast-paced work environment and there is definitely a high level of expectation. The work can be very demanding, especially as we're a start-up, so there are a lot of processes that haven't been fully mapped out, and you may be the trailblazer.

Pros

Look, everyone has a different perspective when it comes to his/her “ideal” job. Personally, my ideal job is working with a highly collaborative, intelligent, but not arrogant, group of individuals that utilizes a broad set of technologies to overcome a diverse set of problems in varying job sectors. Therefore, my Pro's and Byproduct (see below) will reflect that. - Open and collaborative work environment - Flat management structure - Intelligent individuals who are not condescending or arrogant - Seen as a person not a company asset - Critical thinking required - Diverse set of technologies and projects - Transparent and honest - Easy going, relaxed, and down to earth people - Coworkers genuinely care about your well being, both in and out of the office. - Generous compensation - Regular Hackathons - Pro Bono work opportunities -> The company isn’t just about the money - Flexible working hours

Cons

I do not have a cons list, it is a byproduct list. - Open office can be loud sometimes. This could be a negative if you get distracted easily or need a quiet place to work well. - Diverse set of technologies and projects means there is always something new to learn. This could be a negative to those who have a hard time multitasking or switching between languages, architectures, and technologies. - Honesty and transparency means that everyone can see your code and see how you are performing in regards to your KPIs. This can be a negative if you are someone who likes things to be private. - Critical thinking means you can’t just sit back and ride out the day. You have to be aggressive in tackling problems. This can be a negative for people who have a hard time taking the initiative.
