Pros

PM's given lots of autonomy, independence Fair pay

Cons

No support or direction from management because they really have no experience with hands-on PM. (all theoretical). No library of artifacts or documents, no training. PM's are on their own. Owner is limited, stubborn -- it's his way or the highway mentality. Overcharges for a common commodity,. not competitive with other companies or individuals. Have seen so many good people leave this company because of the owner and his way of running the company. Have seen them lose client after client because of inflexible financial policies. Very weak sales team.

Thank you for your review. Executive leaders of the company and practice directors are all certified PMPs demonstrating both practical experience and theoretical knowledge. In fact, company owner is past President/Chair of the Board and Distinguished Fellow of the Project Management Institute. A key differentiator between PM Solutions versus commodity staffing firms, is the vast intellectual capital of the organization including talented consultants, a host of PMO & PM-related publications, and internal SharePoint resources which include a host of relevant artifacts including templates that can be customized to a variety of client engagement. Due to our high standards of delivery, PM Solutions generally does not hire consultants who need training to perform their job – when we add professionals to our team, we absolutely seek talent with the depth and breadth of PM knowledge, skills, and abilities to deliver results and client value Day 1.

Pros

• Consulting is best fit for people who don’t look to traditional corporate ladders. It’s not about titles, but exposure to diverse clients and challenging programs & projects. • Small niche firm where contributions from each and every person have direct impact on business. Everybody heads-down working to drive business forward. • A place for do’ers who simply jump in to get business done. Nay-sayers and ‘noise-makers’ please stay away! • As is the case for all business, Affordable Care Act is normalizing benefits programs, but overall competitive health coverage options and pricing mix offer to FTE regular employees. Part-time & project-based employees not eligible for coverage.

Cons

• Consulting is not for the faint of heart. Clients expect consultants to hit the ground running, so although PM Solutions has a training division to deliver PM training for clients, if you want to be a PM Solutions consultant you must come to the table with the depth and breadth of PM knowledge, skills, and abilities to deliver results and client value Day 1.
