Pros

Always hiring! Lengthy training Consistent support from 3 supervisors and 1 lead out of 21-22 in management currently working. Coworkers are amazing!

Cons

One of the lowest paid crisis intervention remote options Chronically short staffed Training is geared 90% towards hotline. So if you are applying for the chatline, what you learn and what is expected once you get on the lines is different. The role plays you do during training are not accurate to the kinds of chats you are taking in the majority of your shift. Heavy on micromanaging for things that do not effect your actual job. Low to non existent on teamwork or consistency when trying to get clarity on anything. Every person in leadership you reach out to will tell you something different for the same exact question. But they are all correct so you better follow the guidance, Yet when you do the next person in leadership comes along and reprimands you for doing just that. Communication from management is also non existent unless you are one of the lucky few who have one of the good supervisors who actually care about the workers and keeping them up to date on everything, No one has any confidence in the work we are doing because of this. People in crisis are depending on connecting with someone who is confident in their role. Their lives literally depend on it. No job security. Chatline hasn't even been up and running for a full year and management is already talking about it being discontinued. They have started discontinuing programs locally so the ship is definitely sinking.

leaderships sucks, some managers suck, high turnover rate, training is a joke, if you speak up about the work and let them know the flaws is when harassment starts then boom retaliation. It be one supervisor per shift with over 30 employees, everyone is not treated fair, I joined the job as I thought I would be assisting people going thru crisis, well that was a lie they are helping providers commit fraud and the pic is let clueless on why. I only been there a few months and over 20 people including several supervisors quit within a week. This company lies to get federal grants and I cant wait until they are defunded and a better organization takes over. CEO make 5 figures, and the pay is only $$20???! Its a time limit on care, we can't talk more than 20 minutes without being told to wrap a call, there should be no time limit on anyone's crisis, never ever again, do not come here.

Pros

-The Crisis Workers and front-line staff are incredible. The compassion, empathy, and skill they bring every day is the only reason this place functions. -The peer support among supervisors is unmatched — they care for each other when leadership doesn’t. -The mission itself should matter, and for many staff, it does. -You gain valuable crisis experience fast, because the work is constant and heavy.

Cons

-Leadership culture is toxic. Concerns are dismissed, reframed as “confusion” or “lack of professionalism,” and staff who advocate for PICs or coworkers are treated as the problem. -Boundaries are disrespected. Staff are told “you can’t have boundaries,” even when the expectations are unsafe or unrealistic. -No transparency. Decisions are made behind closed doors and handed down without input from the people who actually run shift. Supervisors are excluded from planning, then told to “bring it to the meeting” when the rollout inevitably fails. -Constant contradictions. Different leads/managers give different instructions, leaving everyone scrambling. Nothing is ever in writing, so the same confusion repeats every shift. -Workload is crushing. Supervisors are expected to run shift solo for hours at a time, while simultaneously covering line time, consults, breaks, interventions, admin tasks, and multiple modalities they were never trained on. -Training is misrepresented. Leadership repeatedly claims “all supervisors are trained in all areas,” which is simply not true. Staff are thrown into tasks without preparation, and errors fall back on them. -High turnover. None of this is sustainable. Good, passionate people leave, and leadership doesn’t seem to care until after the damage is done.

Pros

You will learn a lot about suicide crisis, great skills to have regardless of how this company operates.

Cons

There are some wires crossed between their trainers and quality assurance. - Was told training was 4 weeks long, only 3 weeks so they do not have to pay you unemployment after they fire you before 30 days. - Trainers communicate something different than quality assurance expects. - Training program is great if you like self paced material, can retain all the information and can apply it on the phone the next week, live with someone in crisis. -Insignificant amount of training time - less than 3 weeks, live on the phones as a "Trial Period" -Trainers interview in a panel style - Which then those same trainers then talk trash about the candidates that they did not hire from the same panel you interviewed with, during training! -There is a constant threat if you do not finish your self paced materials on time you will not graduate 3 weeks later. You cannot work on it outside of your training schedule. - Trainers shadow multiple Crisis Worker Trainees at the same time, while they try to give advice after joining the call in the middle and assuming what the crisis is about, leaving the new crisis worker in confusion and in constant flight or fight mode! They are no help at all, and do not have a best practice that they follow when shadowing. - The debrief is not constructive after the crisis call. - You must get an 80% on all your role plays. -Role plays are done after self paced content, with no time to practice the skills you learned. This is a complete set up for failure, especially since the trainers are not honest with you on expectations, they tell you to ignore your score! - You are expected to use your own equipment that they require you to purchase to work from home and get the fastest internet package. $$ - Very low compensation in training and then if you graduate, you get a $3.00 increase. - Offer you one schedule during your interview and then tell you that schedule is no longer available. -Offer way too many healthcare options, you will spend more time trying to figure out benefits, than you do trying to learn the content for your new role. - Trainers read from Power Point Presentations and do not know the content. - You will get the same feedback that you give yourself on your role play debrief, so make sure you save your comments so that they can tell you where you need to improve, as they should. -Quality Assurance is not quality, very rude for a company that expects you to have compassion. - HR does not complete your background check until after your 3 weeks, so they save money. - Fingerprints are done after you start your training. -Save your time and money, this company will leave you in a Mental Health Crisis!
