Pros

You can choose your own hours. The kids are amazing. I technically still work for them just because I promised a parent I'd stick around for her child.

Cons

They are absolutely awful to work for. 1. They charge you 50% if you don't fill in a child's report in 12 hours. Never have I ever known an online English company charge for this. 2. The charge double if you don't turn up to a class even if booked whilst you are sleeping/ computer issue 3. Don't get sick within 24 hours of a class. They'll charge for that too! 4. The level of support is next to none. 5. You are not treated like an employee or with any form of respect. You are just a cog in the system. 6. Kids often don't turn up for trials. You only get 50% ish pay despite blocking out the full time for that class. There are hundreds of China-based English companies who will treat you well and pay well. Don't use Palfish!

Pros

Flexible hours, possibility of bonuses for sales and higher wages the more hours you work. Lessons are prepared by Palfish, follow an easy to teach format and are fun and engaging.

Cons

Staff ignore queries, complaints and questions a lot of the time, and when they do respond it's often days later. They have tech issues very regularly for which teachers are automatically penalised with fines, and non payment if they can't enter the classroom. Sometimes these are reversed but often you have to appeal, which they charge you for, and will refuse genuine appeals for tech errors that teachers are not responsible for. In the past Palfish was a great company to work for, but it over the past year their customer service with regards to helping teachers and treating them fairly has really declined in quality. Fines penalties for issues that the systems fault are exhausting, and appealing or challenging unfair treatment is tiring when a lot of the time messages are ignored for days or weeks or not responded to at all.

Pros

The interactive platform is easy and fun.The kids are great in general. They are very flexible on time off.

Cons

The admin / chat groups can get very heated and argumentative. This can be quite depressing. They are dominated by the same small groups of established teachers having personal conversations and showing off how they are overloaded with work .This is discouraging to teachers trying to get advice on establishing themselves .if you post a question as a newbie it often gets ignored by the core teachers in the chat and they just carry on talking amongst themselves. There is a over abundance of teachers so not much work.only enough for pocket money really
