Pros

Nothing only a paycheck not a career

Cons

This company repairs notebooks from HP, Toshiba, and Asus. This company discriminates against Americans. They bring Asian people in on vacation visas and they get away with it. They even tell you in company meetings that if you (americans) do the job then I wouldn't need to bring them in, but this is their way of getting rid of hard working people. On the repair floor not one American is in charge and that is not by mistake. Instead of paying people more they just bring people in from California. So many affairs going on there with upper management and employees. I wouldn't buy anything from HP they are aware of this and only stay because they don't pay anything the more HP finds wrong the less Pegatron gets paid so it is win win for HP. HP's quality went down when they split. Pegatron has never had quality don't send your business there unless you want recycled parts not tested put in your customer's notebooks. Pegatron doesn't hire people with skill cause they don't want to pay them. The doors should be shut on this place. Immigration should check this place out.

Pros

This is an Apple site so the infrastructure is massive, free coffees and food is good in the cafeterias. Other than that, cannot think of any... :(

Cons

The Volt/Pegatron duo has mastered lying, deceiving people and are getting away with it under the hood of their lord-Apple Inc.They take advantage of people's misery. If you are finding hard time to get a job out of college, have patience and wait a bit longer. But do not fall into their trap unless you are desperate, need OPT extension etc. They will make you work long hours without overtime. 10-12 hours a day is a norm. Sometimes you are asked to work on weekends or expected to be there pretty much all day long. They will tell you that you are an exempt salary employee and you have to finish whatever you have left-it doesn't matter whether you are a direct hire or a contractor. They will give examples how in China everyone does the same, so you have to do the same in the US as well! You will be sometimes doing operators' job even if you are hired as an engineer because operators. You might be in charge of training new hires/operators but at the last minute management will change their decision. So those trained people will sit and relax while you have to do everyone's work and run everywhere-because you are an engineer. You won't have any room left to interview elsewhere or to brush your "real engineering" skills. The security is too tight and sometimes disruptive to your work specially if you are in a hurry.

Pros

Somewhat laid back, managers don't hang over your shoulder all day

Cons

Poor upper management. Their idea of raising moral is making things worse and taking away privileges. Supposed to get 15 min breaks but will be lucky if you get 10 by the time you get through security. Judged on production numbers which hardly reflect what you do or how hard you work. Promotions and moving to better areas no based on work performance more for them to fill their needs. A worker who maintained less quota than me and started after me was moved to a position where they can move up and earn more money while I am stuck where I'm at because I put up numbers and am more needed where I'm at Slowly taking away privileges such as listening to music, wont be long and you won't be able to chew gum. You are blocked from just about every resource to help you do your job. Such as internet, need to look up an error code, too bad. You can even test harddrives on every computer because the test only works on computers that have an ethernet port. The manufacturers website is the only resource you are allowed to access and it takes a long time to load. You cannot bring in any tools or diagnostic software either. They didn't even provide me with screws but expected me to replace missing screws. I spent my first several weeks looking at the floor trying to find screws until a coworker quit and gave me their collection. You are rushed to make quota, but they expect a low fail rate. You will be given faulty parts to repair computers with. I've received motherboards with no power button several times. It is not uncommon to have to replace the same part several times before you get one where everything works. If you replace a harddrive (or any part) and it fails and the customer has to return it months later it counts against you. Shame on you for not anticipating failures in advance even though there are virtually no diagnostic tools or the ones you can use don't indicate a failure. I could probably think of more cons, but I'm tired of typing. Just trust me when I say this company is bassakwards.
