Pros

Some nice members of the team.

Cons

The Inner Circle...If you're not in it you will know! Lies from senior management Employees given the job of slyly reporting back to management- creates mistrust within the teams (Most people know who these people are) High turnover of staff with no mention of where staff have gone Excess overtime hours that are not appreciated but expected with no overtime or time in lieu paid Poor Holiday allowance Only SSP paid Management have no backbone Those not in the inner circle are treated horribly, how the company hasn't been brought to a tribunal yet is beyond me!

Pros

- Stocked fridges - Decent office space - Pretty location - Good equipment - Excellent colleagues

Cons

- Treats one team differently from all the other departments (our team works full-time and is office-based whilst all other departments have hybrid working conditions). - Promises things at the interview and then rescinds them when in the job (ie. hybrid working conditions). - Micromanaging. - Low pay (Pretty much minimum wage - for a specialist role)

Good for building skills

Pros

Healthcare benefits were good. Remote working was available all the time but this is bare minimum requirement for an IT company. Good for building a skill base in SQL and interacting with clients. These cons relate to the data team, some other teams may function better within the company.

Cons

Using old technology to complete data migrations, not fit for purpose. Culture in social media etc looks good but below the surface it isn't the case. Middle management don't understand the migration process leaving project managers to add unrealistic timelines to projects. Plenty of meetings about changing processes/improving working conditions but no action to change anything. All talk. High turnover of staff in data team but not willing to work with employees to keep them happy. Underpaid and over worked staff. Terrible pay rises, if you even get one. Using the Ballymena area as an excuse to under pay employees. Inner circle within the company is obvious. Different rules for different people in the company. Expected overtime on a regular basis without reward. Contractors being brought in to complete work but being trained by members who are paid a lot less than the current team.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review; we do take the views of our current and previous employees very seriously. I’m sorry you did not have a positive experience here at PlotBox, a huge majority of our reviewers have had a very different experience but it looks like we are not getting it right for everyone. I note your concerns have largely been targeted at the Data Migration team; we always strive for continuous improvement so it is common for us to explore and try out new ways of working. Our newly appointed Director of Operations comes with a wealth of experience in scaling high-growth tech organisations and will focus not just on generating ideas for improvement but also execution of these improvements and bringing the teams along on the journey. Many of the process, technology, and structural improvements are in train already and we will continue to monitor progress as we go. We appreciate it will take time but we are confident that many of the issues you have highlighted are being addressed. In relation to your concerns about contractors, we do, occasionally, bring in contractors as a short-term solution to support and help our current team. We are paying for a service that excludes all of the benefits and employment rights enjoyed by our current team and it is a common practice in the IT industry as it allows us to flex-up and down depending on where the support is needed most. We appreciate it isn't always ideal however, like in most businesses and industries, we often have to operate in less than perfect circumstances to ensure we are getting our work done and serving our customers as best we can. As a growing business we are currently evolving and adapting and we always try to nurture a strong culture of trust that encourages team members to share concerns with us during their employment. Since your departure, we have embarked on our Great Place to Work certification (which is externally benchmarked and solely based on current employee feedback) in which we recently scored 92% satisfaction across all the focus areas. In addition, we have recently rolled out our monthly pulse surveys which gives us an opportunity to monitor staff satisfaction on a more frequent basis. Both these initiatives give useful insight into what issues might be causing staff to feel less engaged or happy in their jobs. And, in turn, we can address. We don’t always get it right, but we are committed to making positive changes and as we grow we do accept that our ways of working and environment may not be a match for everyone. We wish you well in your career and hope you find a company that is the right fit for you. Best Sean Sean McAllister CEO
