Pomerol has a great culture, where it prides itself on an egalitarian structure. Everyone has a voice, and even as a new employee you are trusted to be able to handle projects that require a lot of responsibility. In turn, an individual develops skill sets from the handling of an important project. Technical skill sets are gained, while soft skills and project management experience are improved. As a person who is just beginning a career, I cannot recommend a better working environment. Pomerol fosters personal growth, is led by smart and friendly management, and most importantly values its employees. The sky is the limit for this company.
Cons
Pomerol is not for everyone. It is a young and small company, with an office environment where all colleagues rub elbows daily. In addition, the work is challenging. You need to be open minded about the work you will do. Job roles are not defined in stone. One day you can be working on the tech side, the next working on administrative tasks, and the day after that you can be across the table from a client showcasing a demo. With that said, Pomerol is an intimate working environment, and requires you to showcase a multitude of abilities. Even if you do not happen to be currently capable in several areas, you must show the willingness to learn and grow in those areas of weakness. Pomerol is not a place for the employee who enjoys humdrum work and a relatively secluded existence from his or her fellow coworkers. This is a happening office, and it is expected of you to step out of your comfort zone and take projects head-on.
