Pros

- If you're seriously looking to build a career in Telecom, PI can be a good stepping stone.

Cons

- PI is the classic case of an organization, where the term "start-up" is exploited by the founders. When it comes to working on tighter deadlines, the organization suddenly becomes a start-up. But when it comes to paying employees, the employers do it worse than TCS, CTS. - Extremely long, grueling work hours. On an average, people spend 14 hrs in the organization. Have to show up on weekends too. Extremely poor work life balance. - Extremely poor pay compared to market standards. If you're a former employee of Vodafone, you can expect a pay day. - Extreme favoritism to a select set of people. - PI claim to be a fun cool start up, but there is no fun nor is the organization cool. No recreational activities. No work culture either. - You have to haggle even for biscuits and coffee.

2. Appreciate your taking time off to give feedback that’s extremely important and useful. Am a firm believer that without honest and candid feedback our progress at times will be inhibited. It’s perhaps pertinent to mention that there are times in startups where we end up managing too many moving parts- deadlines/ projects/ resource and cost pressures to name a few. Of course they are not meant to be over bearing at any point in time. Its but a rarity that people work over the weekend but is certainly not an EXPECTATION. By no means is it a rule of any sorts. Having said that its our fervent belief that people will/ do put their hand up ; in case of any exigency at work. About the compensation bit, Pi till date has attracted talent from marquee companies and have paid market plus’ compensation. Beyond that it’s possible that there are better pay masters outside. We try and make our best attempt to compensate the best we can/ the best the employee deserves.

Pros

I couldn't see any pros apart from location. Personally, I like Chennai so, at least this part was positive for me

Cons

1. Highly unprofessional, derogatory management that treats employees like a slave. 2. Low wages and long working hrs. Most of the people are asked to work on Saturday and Sunday as well. Many times, I have been in a situation where I was asked to work till late nights. 3. If you are from a normal educational background and don't have any option. Please..! still wait for some time before joining this company as you might spoil your career. 4. Poor work life balance. If you want to work on the weekends as well and don't have a personal life then please join this company. 5. Low switching options as the quality of the work is quite low and unrecognized. I am trying since last 6 months but unable to change. 6. Carrer security - Low-grade start-up company with a highly insecure career opportunities.

Firstly we regret your rather below Par’ experience at Pi.. I would like to address each of these points and see how we can improve. But most importantly since you are an existing employee it would be deeply appreciated if there are some specifics to your feedback. We clearly take pride in our values and ethics and also around how we engage and communicate with our employees. Even if there is negative feedback to be given to an employee around their performance, we clearly desist this from getting personal. Start ups have unpredictability but we at Pi have tried our best to smoothen, if not negate these troughs and peaks.. With unpredictability comes learning and progress which we strive to work on all the time. The point around “ low quality of work” doesn’t appear to be correctly placed given that we are associated with very large brands and on a continuous basis. These have involved our efforts in solving an array of business problems hitherto not addressed by these org’ns. Hence a surprise! Must add in the same breath that start ups are clearly not for those who need a linear graph whether it’s to work or compensation or learning. May be a predictable large organisation is the answer for people seeking predictability and linearity..One caveat though.. Our compensation is bench m marked vs our search pool and is market plus. We have attracted colleagues from very large MNCs and the compensation by no means low. In times like these value discovery is a continuous process.
