I worked at Poundland full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great relations with the team in store
Fun environment even though the work is hard.

I have been working at Poundland part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you have a decent manager then it can be bearable.

    Cons

I have worked there for 5+ years and with my first manager the job was alright. However once he left there has been a constant changing of managers and each one has treated the staff appallingly. They do not respect their staff and clearly show favoritism to certain employees. Hours are terrible most of the time unless you are one of the lucky few to get a high contract. No benefits and we are basically told to leave if we have a problem. Management have been known to tell other employees personal information about other members of staff that they have no business knowing! Absolutely disgraceful place to work for.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone equally and learn to respect your staff.

I have been working at Poundland full-time

    Pros

I don't see any pros at work for Poundland.

    Cons

Minimum salary, they don't give safety and healthy training at all, not safety place for work, unrespectfull treatment for worker.

    Advice to Management

Make health and safety department company work better to see risk at workplace. they don't want see few hole in floor in warehouse....

I have been working at Poundland (More than a year)

    Pros

The pros are that you can have some laughs with colleagues and enjoy a friendly team to work with

    Cons

Very low pay and a very poor appreciation of hard working, promotions are only done to friends. Management spents more time having smoking, lunch and chatting breaks than working and then they will moan to everyone else if they have a minute over their respective break.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard workers with promotions or a better salary, young workers make the same job as everyone else and should be paid the same, and management should give more example and work too

I worked at Poundland full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

good money if you can keep up, pallet wrap machine

    Cons

pushed too hard, held to ransom if you don't meet your targets they will tell you you can get sacked and lose money etc, no help from managers if you have a problem, if you drop a pallet or have to clean something up you are still timed on picking. No moving forward if your face doesn't fit.

    Advice to Management

lower pick rates a little, offer help and guidance to new people, have a stop button on rdt if you drop a pallet etc.

    Cons

No respect from Management regarding health issues such as Stress and Anxiety..Manager always criticized and me feel stupid for it.
No support network....When given the workload of 4 people to complete if you ask for support the answer from Management is "do you want extra hours to finish"...no i dont want the hours i want the support!
No training structure....When i first started i was given a 30minute induction then paired with another colleague for 2 hours.
