IT as an opportunity to work with various technologies but the load that is placed on permanent staff makes you too busy to learn more skills than what is purely necessary to do your job.
Cons
Interesting projects tend to be given to contractors which decreses the morale of the permanent staff, which results in people leaving after a few years.
