No longer a great place to work

Pros

Originally staffed with passionate and bright employees. Some of the smartest people I have had the pleasure to work with. People managers generally do their best to ensure that the employees are getting their fair go. If you are fortunate enough to work on the better projects, there are fantastic opportunities for growth and experiences.

Cons

Terrible work life balance that rival the Big4. Publically discourages overtime but managed in a way that makes overtime inevitable. Pay that is significantly under market average at the contributor and senior levels. Carrot and stick approach to career growth that leaves many without progression for years. Unbelievable amount of accumulated tech debt due to perpetual crunch time and immature development practices. Confusing roles and responsibilities, where a contributor can find themselves more technical than their supporting senior or leads. Bias towards consulting and will require high degree of consultanting proficiency despite being self labelled as a tech company. Deficits in consulting prowess will hurt your growth here. Disappointing disconnect between the messaging from HR, people managers and leadership. Losing star employees at record rate while ignoring the reasons why they are leaving.

Good place to work

Pros

Working at Quantium has been incredibly rewarding. The company's cutting-edge approach to data analytics, diverse client portfolio, and supportive culture provide an ideal environment for professional growth. Challenging projects, ongoing learning opportunities, and a healthy work-life balance make Quantium an excellent choice for ambitious managers in the data science industry.

Cons

While Quantium offers valuable experience in data science and management, it has its challenges. The fast-paced environment can lead to high stress and long hours during peak project times. The complexity of client projects may overwhelm less experienced managers. Career progression can be competitive, and some feel the company's rapid growth has led to occasional communication issues between teams. The focus on large clients might limit exposure to smaller, innovative startups.

Pros

Lovely, intelligent and collaborative people. The business has a real growth mindset.

Cons

Unsociable hours - insufficient measures taken to address this for those not based in Australia. Difficult to reshape role and experience after joining in a particular position at more senior grades.
