Pros

Before TT acquisition, lots of support for lots of diverse groups and open atmosphere. My coworkers are still caring and supportive - as would have been expected from a previously inclusive company. Lots of us are neurodiverse and share openly our experiences. A lot of my colleagues are hard working and passionate for ecology; they care and still manage to offer good service to clients. All of my colleagues are inclusive, we work across offices fairly regularly and entire ecology team is generally close knit.

Cons

Recent developments in American politics have caused RPS to pause ERGs and stop advertising inclusivity due to pressure from Tetra Tech. Concerns for US govt contracts have somehow made work harder for UK employees of often discriminated against characteristics such as neurodiversity, ethnicity and queer identities. Communication on the topic has been flimsy and constant reminders of their abidance to UK Equality Act 2010 is used as an cop out for their behaviour.

Pros

Some interesting work Some nice people

Cons

Many experienced staff are continuously overlooked so are leaving Hemorrhaging staff but the workload is remaining the same so everyone else is stressed out, over worked and making errors The RPS name for quality is being compromised Staff promoted into roles not based on merit but because they are the last ones standing - they are not competent Pressure cascading on the rest of the team Senior leadership appalling Cant recruit as the RPS name in the industry has gone down hill

Pros

RPS used to be great and attracted a really nice bunch of people who care about their careers, their customers, and what they do. These nice staff are either retiring or leaving.

Cons

RPS is now basically milking its old name and running itself down. It’s all about the money and the accounts now. People are leaving and not being replaced. There’s no interest in providing a good service and certainly no interest in looking after the staff. It’s a shame, but RPS has had its day.
