Pros

You know...normally I'd say "working remotely is a huge perk" but Raintree finds a way to take even that and make it a negative. I guess the stress-induced weight loss was a nice touch? I haven't needed a haircut since I pulled all mine out in frustration.

Cons

How much time do you have? There is zero work/life balance with any position in this company. If you are effective in your role, you'll be rewarded with more work, not more money, not even a thank you. The old leadership is ineffectual, the new leadership is a blend of kiss-ups and deeply offensive bullies and I say that as someone who can't remember the last time they were offended prior to this job. The folks who actually know how to manage the product as it exists today are treated like they're second-class citizens. They're constantly being told they're not doing "it" right but won't be told what "it" is. Once you figure out what "it" is, that will change to something else. No training will be provided on this it, previous its, or future its, you're responsible for figuring that out on your own...you know...with all the free time you have without work/life balance. The pay is below average, the product is below average, the leadership is below average. The only thing above average in this company is the stress and the desire to leave. I'm on my way out the door, and I wouldn't be shocked to find quite a few other folks are as well.

Pros

Remote Work, Nice co-workers, mostly pleasant customers and I can't think of more than that.

Cons

Toxic leadership with an unethical approach to performance evaluations by systematically lowering the ratings that managers give to staff in order to justify future layoffs, low pay and increases. Not worth the time given.

Decaying Morale and Value of People

Pros

Working remotely, great coworkers, wonderful customers.

Cons

Executive leadership (If it can be called that), utter lack of work-life balance, complete disregard for staff morale, consistent purging of experienced staff, valuing revenue above all else including customer relationships. The strengths of this once-great company were its people, relationships, and flexibility. Those foundations have been eroding and decaying due to the philosophical changes brought about since PE investment and the insertion of a new C-Suite. Change is necessary for growth, and that is not the problem. There are areas where change would be beneficial to the company and its workers. However, while this change could be accomplished without sacrificing culture and morale, those have been callously sacrificed to "better the organization". The heart of this company has become a withered husk of what it once was. In conclusion, at the core of the cons I would say is that Raintree has transitioned from a people-centric, caring environment where people worked hard because they truly cared to a soulless corporation draining every last ounce of passion from its staff and exploiting every financial opportunity with its customers in the ever-increasing pursuit of revenue.
