Pros

Nice office space, some good people, the odd free day out here and there and free food... that pretty much sums the pros up. Upper management is friendly, approachable and accessible but work to crazy deadlines so getting to speak to them can be hard.

Cons

Long hours, inconsistent middle management who place themselves first and second... lower level employees take the back seat in some areas. Staff who simply don't fit into the clique are silently and effectively managed out... in the short term, my life was ruined by this company.

No "No Politics"...

Pros

Free lunch, laidback day-to-day atmosphere, company days and dinners out for stuff.

Cons

Everything stalls at middle management, it's impossible to get anything done. Your experience is totally dependent on whether your manager/team is willing to stand up for you. There is a LOT of dead weight in the employee pool.

No progression options and consistently negative managers

Pros

There are some very talented and lovely people that do their best to create a good atmosphere. Fun team and company events when they can happen. Also, if you can last 5 years in the same role, they offer a 6-week sabbatical.

Cons

Extremely limited career progression, favouring externals and no value put on internal knowledge and relationships. No consistency in roles and salaries across a single team let alone divisions. Absolute luck of the draw with managers, some genuinely care and want the best for their team others are bullies who only see the negatives and use 1:1s as a regular opportunity to reiterate that you’re not going to progress anywhere. If you’re part of the clique you’re onto a winner, if not don’t expect anything in return for all of the extra hours (on top of a 40 hour week) you’ll need to do.
