Pros

- Flexible working - Used to have a good wfh budget

Cons

This company is a cautionary tale of corporate dysfunctionality, a place where your career aspirations come to die. Let's start with the staggering inequality that permeates the organization. Employees at the same level are subjected to wildly disproportionate pay scales, with management seemingly oblivious to the concept of fair compensation. Your hard work and dedication are likely to be rewarded with meager financial acknowledgment, while your peers enjoy significantly higher salaries for identical roles. But that's not the end of the nightmare. The company's share structure is a textbook example of favoritism gone awry. Some employees, also at the same level, have shares that far eclipse those of their colleagues, creating a toxic environment of resentment and hostility. The blatant lack of transparency in this regard speaks volumes about the company's ethical compass. Adding insult to injury, the company’s hiring blunders are conveniently swept under the rug through a manipulative performance review system. Rather than owning up to their mistake of over-hiring, they resort to putting employees on performance reviews, a tactic to make them redundant under the guise of poor performance. It’s a heartless approach that showcases the management’s inability to take responsibility for their own decisions. And if that doesn't make you sprint in the opposite direction, consider this: the company is shamelessly withholding bonuses for the entire fiscal year of 2022. Your hard-earned rewards are held hostage, a clear sign of their disregard for employee satisfaction and well-being. Furthermore, the company’s desperation to show positive cash flow to investors has led to a disturbing prioritization of optics over ethics. Employees are overworked and underappreciated, all in an effort to present a facade of financial stability. In conclusion, this company is a sinking ship of inequity, mismanagement, and broken promises. Your talents and ambitions deserve far more than this toxic environment can offer. Save yourself the heartache and frustration; look elsewhere for a workplace that respects your worth and values your contributions.

Firstly, thank you for sharing your feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to consider what you enjoy about working at Redkite and, equally, your thoughts on how we can evolve and continually improve Redkite to better support our entire team. If you have any further feedback or wish to discuss anything further, please reach out to your People Point of Contact (PPOC) or me directly (henry@redkite.com). Taking each of your points in turn, I was really pleased to see that our flexible work policy was something that you valued. We have worked hard to ensure we continually remain a business that addresses the needs of each individual and see our flexible work policy as one of the key levers to ensure this. In the same way, we saw our work from home budget as a way to ensure that people could create the right environment that suits the way they like to work and helps them enjoy signing on each day. As a hyper-growth business, I am going to be the first to admit that we haven’t always gotten things right. I have always felt strongly that we should strive to approach each member of our team as an individual. That includes open conversations about all of the benefits they value as part of a remuneration package that works for them and their needs. Over the years this has looked like investment into certifications and training, funded mentorship programmes, annual bonuses, specific salaries and many other combinations that give our teams what they need to feel they are well compensated for what they bring to the table. As with any business that grows from 30 people to 300 in four years, we have learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t and through deliberate feedback gathering and external advisory we have taken strides to establish a view of what people love and maybe don’t love about our approach. As such, we are launching a refreshed approach to pay to ensure that it continues to be a fair, transparent and sustainable model. In the meantime, if you are unclear how your salary was set - please refer to our Reward & Recognition internal notion page or speak with your PPOC. We will always listen to any concerns and consider any factors we may not have been aware of – and we are committed to making adjustments as and when needed. In relation to our share option scheme, I would like to clarify that we have clear, consistent principles in place in terms of share allocation - which considers tenure at Redkite and role family. If you feel that there may have been an issue with your allocation, please do reach out to a member of our people team directly. Your disappointment around the discretionary bonus is understandable and a decision I and the rest of the Managing Directors did not take lightly. We had a duty to stick to the principles under which the bonus is offered, despite that meaning an upsetting outcome for our team. I hope some of the above addresses some of your observations, for anything else, again, please always feel free to reach out to our people team or to me directly. Henry

Pros

Data, as an industry is the place to be. Plenty of opportunity in the space. Fast pace of change in technology, ways of working. Clients excited about the possibilities of what can be achieved and insights unlocked by use of data.

Cons

Many. Leadership team are shady about company performance information being shared. Lack of transparency or authenticity in communication. Lack of empathy in communication and delivery of bad news (several recent examples of this). Lack of responsibility or accountability by leaders in recent underwhelming financial performance of the company, blaming solely the economy. Several people not allocated to any client work - having over hired in anticipation of work previously. Morale is generally low across all teams and the company do not seem to care about this or do anything to address it.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we value all opinions and will use this to continue building an organisation that we are all proud to work in. I have taken some time to consider the points you have raised and will aim to address them below, however if you have any further feedback or wish to discuss anything in more detail, please reach out to your People Point of Contact (PPOC) or me directly (henry@redkite.com). First off, I wholeheartedly agree that data as an industry is a great place to be working and I couldn’t be prouder to have built a company that has been able to grow and adapt with this face paced industry. We value every client that we work with and are immensely grateful for the opportunities they provide for our people to develop their skill set and advance their sector knowledge. We are also excited to see where data takes us in the future and strive to build a sustainable organisation where we can be part of its success. Like many businesses, 2023 has brought extended challenges that has meant we have had to pivot as leaders and focus on financial stability for our people and business. We have held many team wide updates sharing the reasons behind our decision making and how this will benefit the future of Redkite and our employees, and have strived to be as transparent as possible, whilst maintaining confidentiality for those who are impacted most by our organisational changes. As a leader at Redkite, I own the decisions made to date and do not make decisions that impact people lightly. I will always make myself available to those who wish to discuss these circumstances further. We appreciate that going through hyper-growth can impact the culture and morale of our people who are used to a smaller, more intimate way of working. Alongside the people team, we have worked hard to ensure our people are supported by improving our processes and listening to feedback like you have shared here. This is not a one and done project but a constant focus for us at Redkite and we will keep looking for ways to better communicate and manage our people processes. I hope this addresses some of the points you have shared. For anything else, please feel free to reach out to me or a member of the people team. Henry

Pros

- Good company culture - Talented bunch - 2 extra paid holidays in the Summer with an option to have them paid out - Birthday off

Cons

- Redundancies with critical cogs of the system let go - Bonus from 21/22 financial year not being paid out - More managers than leaders One day they speak about your career growth and the very next day (no exaggeration) you hear you're being made redundant. There was no exit interview in the consultation process - seems like they're not interested in listening to feedback

Thank you for sharing your feedback, I appreciate hearing from from the team no matter the context and will strive to address both the positive aspects of Redkite that you mention as well as the constructive comments that will help us continually improve our ways of working. I have taken time to consider this feedback, hence the delay in response, however I hope to have addressed all points below to a satisfactory standard. I am are proud to hear that you feel like Redkite has a good company culture and that we have hired talented individuals. This is something we are very passionate about at Redkite and put a lot of effort into maintaining. Benefits such as extra paid holiday help us recognise and reward our people for the excellent work they do and brilliant contribution they bring to the growth of Redkite. Taking time off work is highly encouraged so employees can recharge and continuing doing the work they love in a healthy way. Career growth and development remains an important aspect of our culture as we endeavour to create a thriving team of data leaders. We believe the key to unlocking greater growth opportunities for our people is creating a prosperous business, therefore our focus is on ensuring the business becomes stronger and more resilient as we navigate uncertain times, and strive to give our people the support they need. We are in the difficult position of having to make some potential redundancies, and we have started a consultation process to conduct this in a fair manner, directly impacting a small minority of the business. Whilst the consultation process is running, there will be no terminations due to redundancy. We appreciate how difficult this time is for individuals and will ensure everyone impacted gets an opportunity to speak with our leaders to share their thoughts and feedback on how we manage this process. Separate to the redundancy process, our people team run exit interviews with all permanent leavers as we very much want to hear why they are moving on from Redkite and what we can do to keep developing our employee experience. In terms of the discretionary bonus, our decision to not pay it this year was a difficult one, however, it was made in support of minimising the redundancy impact. We appreciate how this is still disappointing for some employees and hope to be able to re-introduce this bonus in the coming years. I hope some of the above addresses some of your observations and I wish you every success in your next opportunity. Henry
