Pros

Growth Opportunities are present. Stable hours are possible.

Cons

High Premium with High Deductible plans that require 30 hrs for 6 weeks to achieve, no consideration if hours are not available. Witnessed HIPAA and Ethical Violations that were ignored when brought to upper management. RBTs experienced retaliation from management and abusive practices if displeasure was expressed by RBTs.

Pros

Unless you are friends with management. There are no pros

Cons

Prior to being employed at Rehab for All I was an RBT for a year. My time with my prior company was wonderful and I looked forward to continuing my passion. However, my year experience never prepared me for what it would be like to work for a place like this. 1. Retention. This company went through approximately 4 BCBAs in less than a year and approximately 25 RBTS/BTs. Now, the plus side is, if you are an individual with zero work ethic..this is your place. You can call out an entire week, or even once or twice a week, every single week and still be employed. That's nice I suppose. 2. Due to the consistent turnover and keeping the undesirable employees, you can be guaranteed your schedule will change daily, multiple times a day. At times schedules can be altered several times in a matter of less than an hour. So if you enjoy not knowing what to expect day to day or even minute by minute. This is the place to be. 3. Ethics. If you're looking for vague ethical behavior you'll find it here. The company will say to some that they are a "hands off" clinic (as a matter of fact, when you're hired they tell you this) but when it is convenient, they will be "hands on". The company does not ensure ALL employees are certified and trained properly. (Safety care, CPR, PCM, etc.) 4. Upper management will attempt to intimidate and threaten you, IF you say anything or question anything. They will abuse their positions; if they can't control you, they will attempt to control the narrative about you. You can tell a bully from a leader by how they treat others who disagree with them. 5. Personal relationships with management means your job is protected. As long as you are "friends" with management (aka licking their boots) then you never have to worry about being fired. Employees that are shown preferential treatment are allowed to treat other employees as they please. And, if you are an RBT, the other staff (ST, PT, OT) do not respect you. They do not see ABA as "medical" or "important" so they refuse to work with RBTs and co-treat for the interest of the client. This is not only well known information to upper management but is tolerated and encouraged by upper management. ABA is a small community and unfortunately too many companies like this stick around due to employees and families that pick up and just go somewhere else. Their interest is not in the clients/families/employees and that needs to be the priority. Not every place is perfect, however, these situations should not be taken so lightly. There are children involved and it is of the upmost importance that every ABA clinic be held accountable when they are performing way below the standard. Clients and employees are not tangible things to manage, they're humans that are meant to be valued. If Rehab for All taught me anything, it was how NOT to be in this field.
