    Lack of diversity of thought, slow cultural change, fixed frozen middle, inflexible, slow promotion system/ few opportunities to ascend (specialisation dependant)

    Slow promotion compared to other trades due to long training period. Puts huge strain on family.

    Plenty of travel, respectable pay, good Medical & Dental cover. A good place to gain experience to build a career in civvie street.

    Cons

    Resources are becoming scarce, under appreciated by the Management and Government. Incentives for a long career option have been removed.
