Pros

Initially things were good here but now there's nothing positive

Cons

The most prominent issue I have with SKIDOS is micromanagement. The lack of trust and freedom can suffocate and hamper productivity and creativity. Feeling valued as an employee is hard when your every move is scrutinized. They imposed salary deductions which have been a significant cause for concern. 15-25% pay cuts without any appraisal or justification are demoralizing and difficult to bear even when forcing people to come back to office, especially when there’s no sign of improvement in the near future. The company is grappling with financial difficulties. While this is not unusual, blaming employees for these challenges can create a hostile work environment and further lower morale. Job security is virtually non-existent here. The atmosphere is filled with uncertainty, significantly affecting employee morale and productivity. The workspace is not only inadequate but also needs more basic facilities. The company operates from a residential setup, which does not provide a conducive environment for professional work. The overall work culture can be described as toxic and unhealthy. There is a lack of respect and understanding between employees and management, which has led to low morale and motivation among the staff. Rather than addressing employees’ concerns seriously, the company responded to negative reviews by fabricating positive ones.

Pros

Ummm.. let me think, sorry I thought a lot but couldn’t land up on any.

Cons

To begin with, have you noticed that in order to create a hoax of good culture, all reviews have been forcefully given on the same date i.e., 3 Feb 2021? Now, my detailed review, I will mention about the C level people as they represent the company, you will find both CTO and CEO shouting on their subordinates if they do not agree with them. It is like a norm in the company where the CEO says that it is human nature to be loud and rude. If you are a yes-man then your skillset doesn’t matter, you will be given a promotion, if not then you will be put in the situations where you are compelled to leave or be fired. There is absolutely no planning, no structure and no vision in the company. Little to no documentation, special category people given special status where they can stretch deadlines but if you are a vocal person of standing up for what is just then you will be pressurised to meet unrealistic deadlines and eventually leaving the company. There is nothing new to learn here, all repeated and monotonous work. There is a funny catch up call that the management holds, where the CEO pretends as if he is paying heed to your issues. In reality, he is not. Even after all the real reviews if you have thrown yourself in this unpleasant environment then ask the CEO what he has written in the notepad and the plan to take necessary steps to resolve issues on which at least he agrees upon.

Pros

I couldn't find any pros at Skidos. My biggest reason of joining the company was to grow internally but the CEO does not have any vision whatsoever, neither for the product nor for his employees. He doesn't even understand what responsibilities are to be handled by someone designated at a particular role. You will find him favouring few employees over everyone else. The only pro you would have found was few professional people but sadly that is also not there now.

Cons

Before you jump on to the conclusion that this review is written by someone just to be ranting against the company. Let me tell you that this has been written after a long period of time and by someone who was actually involved in building up the team. I believe anyone joins a company for three major reasons- 1. Renowned Brand 2. High compensation or good benefits 3. Learning and growth within the organisation This company has none of them. It was found way back in 2013 but they still call themselves a startup, ever wondered why? Because there is no growth given to the product. People who actually presented and developed the idea are gone. Ask few questions at the time of interview: 1. What is the vision of the company? 2. How do they see their product in upcoming years? 3. What is the vision for the employees growth within the organisation? 4. What responsibilities you would be taking care of? This is really important because they would hire you and promise you a lot of things but eventually you would end up doing some lame tasks. 5. Another important question, you will not find any of the old employees working at Skidos. All of them have left. Don't believe me? Go to LinkedIn and find out yourself. Ask them why the CEO is unable to retain all of his old employees. Attitude problem? 6. Ask the interviewer, where is the team who actually laid the foundation of the product? Where is the team who developed the product to such a level? A COMPANY GETS GOOD NAME BY THE FACT THAT HOW MANY OLD (SKILL-FULL) EMPLOYEES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. I have added skilful because they may come up stating a few names but it's better not to comment on them. The funny part is the CTO of the company who does not have any domain knowledge whatsoever. He is having no experience in gaming and not even in the mobile but you will find a different kind of favouritism by the CEO towards the CTO. You will find that people with no or less experience have been given certain positions which is actually hilarious. The company may and I repeat "may" be okay for interns and you will find this situation within the organisation. There is absolutely no culture in the company. Anyone can shout on anyone and the CEO himself defends stating that this is human nature and things may happen. You will be asked to work in the late hours and during the weekend too. This shall also be included in your contract in the manner that you may need to devote extra time. Now there is no proper definition for it. If you are someone with no skills and desperate for a job and this company is for you. All you need to be is a bootlicker of the CTO, because there is a chain that is formed and if you break it, then you leave it. The company cannot even give a proper goodbye to their employees who were involved with them at the time when nobody wanted to join. Not even a decent farewell. Shame on them. I guess this should be enough to give an overview of the company. I leave the rest to the candidate's discretion.
