The wizards in management consistently screw up the rotations and visas which hits you in the wallet big style. For example you may come in and work for 80 days but then be out for 80 or more days. That means you don't meet the 330 day tax exclusion so you now have to pay taxes on you money and there really isn't that much of it. Recruiting constantly lies to new hires they will get you on the hook and promise you one daily rate and when you get in country or just before you deploy they will send you a contract showing much less than what you were initially told. This happens all the time, which is why the recruiting department refuses to provide you with the amount you will make via email and will on "tell you over the phone". They like to claim to be onboard with ethics and doing what is right...that's laughable. SOC regularly violates host nation law deploying their staff will consular visas that are illegal and can lead to your arrest, detention, and deportation from country; not only this but the staff who actually do get into country after SOC bribes people at the airport have local "Iraqi Taxes" deducted from their pay. They deduct these "taxes" and then put them right into their pocket as there is no activated visa registered with the ministry of finance. They at no stage have any ability to provide you with any documentation of any kind showing where these funds go at all...sounds unethical, corrupt, strap in and get ready for a ride.
